Best cell phone for under 500

Looking for the best cell phone under 500 dollars. Used is fine on swappa. Requirements are that it has to be android. I was looking at some of the Motorola's but not sure which one to grab.
They are for my two middle schoolers and they currently have galaxy core primes (old and just chunking away).
I tried the tech board, but the only threads there are slobbering on Cad's knob.

Go get the jitterbug. This is what my mom has. She sucks at technology, but it's a smart phone and it's cheap as hell.

I'ma trade in an s7active in good shape(no replacements or anything wrong with it). Will I get that deal?
I still have an s5 Active that is in perfect shape that will be my backup.
I'm incredibly good to my devices. Hell, My old iphone 5s is my ipod/spotify player. The sound is AMAZING on the lightning cable to car stereo(much better than blue tooth).
