I’m pretty happy and content and don’t often miss the life...but when I do, and get that feeling of being out in the mix, I really do miss it.

It definitely did.

Are you arguing that the same establishment that had Waka Flocka Flame play in their parking lot for "TigerLand Fest" didn't establish a certain clientele?

Best: Got to grind and make out with 2 girls at once
Worst: Got hung out to dry by my boys when I was supposed to meet them and they never showed

way, way, back in the day when you took the double-decker English bus from Tigerland over to the Journalism Building...was actually a lot of fun...that was real early before any bars got established there...

Best: Every time I blacked out and ended up in a strange woman's bed (usually once a semester after a long slump)

Worst: Spending the night on the concrete behind Pluckers one of my first nights out as a freshman because I didn't know how to get back to the dorm. This was pre smart phones and Uber.

The Tigerland locals did not spend time in Fred’s

The “dress code” was enforced pretty hard for certain parties trying to come in

About an hour later while I'm sitting at home alone the girl who I saw earlier calls from the bar to check on me. I tell her what happened and why I can't come back to the bar. She then says she's going to walk over to keep me company. Long story short, about 3 minutes after she gets to my apartment she's ripping her shirt and bra off riding me in my bed. We'd never really done anything like that before, but apparently the sight of me in the back of the cop car and the commotion around it (coupled with a few rum and cokes) got her ridiculously horney.

You were the bad boy.

All of my memories are good.

My time in Tigerland was from 1977 - 1983. From the summer of 1980 through the summer of 1983 I lived on Earl Gros Dr. within easy walking distance to the Tigerland bars. I enjoyed my time there. I understand things have changed.

Me too. This was back when there were neither doors on the stalls nor toilet paper available.

lmao there was a point in the 09-14 era where I'm pretty sure they didn't have a toilet in one of the stalls at Reggies, it was just a hole. Maybe I'm imagining that in my fricked up brain but I could have sworn that was the case. Toilet paper? no way, I call bs on Reggies men's room ever updating to add toilet paper

Not the best night but does anyone remember the big Cartoon Network Adult Swim event they had at Tigerland around that same time? I thought about that the other day and could not remember how tf that even was a thing.

First off, didn’t happen, 95% of Fred’s customers are white college students. You were probably scared some alphas we’re gonna steal your

Secondly, why were you waiting to be first in line at a bar in tiger land?

Best: first weekend in Baton Rouge before college freshman year and hitting up Reggie's. I came from a dry country in rural Arkansas with 15k total county population. Was a total culture shock in a good way.

Worst: separated from my gf, went looking for her asking random people if they've seen any pissed of women running around, bought nachos. She returns, ends up throwing my nachos under a truck after I don't take her seriously, I say screw this I'm out. I start walking back, and I make the turn onto Nicholson. I think "you know what? I should try to go patch things up one more time. I don't want to deal with this all day tomorrow." There's a little water in that ditch between Nicholson and Fred's. I try to take a short cut. I get a running start and jump. I clear the water but the bank on the other side is soft. It's basically quick sand and I end up chest deep in mud. I pull myself out totally covered in mud and walk all the way back to Northgate. I get on the elevator at Sterling and stink to high heaven. A neighbor I knew from Oman gets on with me. It's dead silent for about 2 floors then he just breaks out with "you know man, you should probably think about quitting drinking."

Best: Saw Mettenberger and OBJ at Fred's so I dapped them off. Then after Fred's closed saw them again getting nachos at a Mexican food truck in the parking lot. Talked to them a couple minutes. I thought they were cool.

Worst: Got so high off of acid and drank half a bottle of Skyy before even getting to Tigerland and then when I went into Fred's I started crying like a bitch after 5 minutes. Had to get my friend to pick me up right after that and I can easily say that's the most embarrassed he's ever been.

I've got a good Mettenberger story. My roommate's gf (they may have been on a "break") went to the bar with the girls. Bars close, and he goes to her place exactly 2 floors above ours. Her roommate answers the door and says "she's not feeling well. She'll call you tomorrow." He asked why he couldn't just see her. Couldn't get an answer, the girl just tells him she's not letting him in. He stakes out for a while. I tell him something is fishy. We never really find anything out until months later one of the girls tells me it was because Mettenberger came back to their apartment. He gave her his # and never responded after
