3 best
Tool - All three in one cause all three were amazing
Kenny Chesney - The level of hotness of his audience is absurd. So, so, so many hot girls. I don't remember any song but I remember every low cut top and arse sticking out
Slayer/Manson - Bes pits I've been in.

I saw the Clash at the Warehouse in NOLA in '80 or '81.
Me too, but it was June 1982. "Combat Rock" tour.

Best was Justin Timberlake and P!nk at Smoothie King. Both are incredible performers and don't play them lip-sync shenanigans.
Worst was Hinder at the Varsity. We had free tickets and I wanted money back for my time.

There have been a lot of bests so it's hard to pick one out. I'd have to say that the first Sunday of Jazzfest in 2010 was right up there. Wetlands Allstars then Levon Helm then Allman Bros. was as good as it gets despite the sloppy conditions.
For worst there are two that stand out. One was The Cars in BR in about '80 or '81. They played less than an hour but the opening act (The Motels) was excellent. The other one was Jimmy Eat World/Green Day/Blink 182 at Fiddler's Green in Denver. Jimmy Eat World was really good, Green Day was pretty good too but Blink 182 was just dreadful.

Sounds about right.

Best was Tool in NO
Runner up was Drop Kick Murphy's. Was super weird. In a shite hole place with bunch sketchy arse people. They play 2-3 songs in the front, then you go to the back and watch a boxing match. Rinse and repeat for 4 matches.
Cant say ive been to a bad concert, so no worst for me.

Best: Dead & Co - Boulder, Folsom Field 2019 night 2
Worst: some rapper at Bonnaroo named Future. It was laughably bad. The younger crowd was towards the front and having a great time. Us old folks were laughing at how terrible it was

Best: Garth, as others have mentioned, puts on a great show. Believe it or not, Third Eye Blind does as well. I went a couple of years ago, and they played their entire first album from back to front. Zac Brown Band is another one.
Worst: Kacey Musgraves is hot, but damn her show was boring.

Best: Coldplay in Dallas. Say what you want about their music, but they put so much energy and visuals into their shows. Also Chris Martin taking a little time to ask for prayers for BR (this was right after the 2016 floods) was a nice touch as well.
Honorable Mentions: Chris Stapleton, Saint Motel, Kacey Musgraves
Worst: Reba at Bayou Country Superfest. Opening right before George Strait, she had a GD monologue before Every. Freaking. Song. she was going to sing.
Dishonorable mentions: Iggy Azalea, Ludacris

Worst: David Allen Coe (In all due respect, he was 77 years old and still having to play at little bars in small towns after losing everything because of tax evasion)
Saw him at the Fast Trax Speedway in Chatham, LA. The audience was like the lyrics of Long Haired Redneck come to life.

When they played at halftime of whatever LSU game that was they were awful. Just awful.
Did anybody see the Sex Pistols when they played in Baton Rouge?

Best I've seen recently was Liam Gallagher in a small venue in Chicago. He was sober, letting the audience choose which songs they wanted to hear, and he appeared to be genuinely having a good time. It was a rather remarkable difference compared to when I saw Oasis before they broke up.
Worst was probably Davy Jones at a community college theater several years ago. His voice was fine, but the environment was sterile and full of middle aged women. He dutifully ran through some Monkees hits, signed some autographs and peaced out after an hour or so. I wouldn't call it bad, just blah.

Spin Doctors
I like to joke with my oldest kid that she was conceived at a Spin Doctors concert, so pretty much anything she does beyond sit there and drool is lagniappe.
(I have never been to a Spin Doctors concert. It just seemed like the worst possible place someone could be conceived.)

Best - Alice Cooper at Hirsch Coliseum in Shreveport circa 1976 or 1977.
Close second - Pink Floyd PMAC 1978 or so. Animals tour. I did not care for Pink Floyd going into the show. Bought several LPs including Animals thereafter.
Biggest surprise - J. Geils Band. I went to see Montrose and Foghat, the opening two bands on a three band show. They were favorites of mine at the time. Stayed for JGB with wonder at outset how they could be the headliner. Terrific show, definitely the best of the night.
Not purely musical but just the same, every Blue Man Group performance I've seen has been very good. I highly recommend them.
I can't really think of anybody whose show was so bad that I remember it but there were two major disappointments.
ZZ Top had just released Rio Grande Mud. I loved it, especially Just Got Paid. Went to their show and all they played was blues stuff from their first LP. I didn't know that they had an LP before Rio Grande Mud. It was terrible.
I know I'm in the minority, here, but Led Zeppelin's PMAC show bored the living crap out of me. I guess I had too high expectations and it seemed as though they deliberately chose songs I didn't care for instead of songs I did.

Best- Lollapalooza with Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, and Metallica. Meg, actually tossup, that or Voodoo with Foo Fighters, Killers, Prophets of Rage.
Worst- Not the worst show... but I saw Tool somewhere and the opening band was of course terrible. It was the brother of the leader singer from Faith No More I believe. Anyway, they were so terrible the audience started pelting them with water bottles and shite like I have never seen. Constant barrage. Guy stops playing guitar, grabs his mic and says, “We have a new album coming out with fifteen songs on it, if you don’t stop throwing shite, we’ll play all fricking night!”
Was the funniest thing I’ve ever heard a band yell, lol.
