high demand weekends

I never fly Nashville in or out on the weekend. I literally park in the ramp third floor by the elevator doors and go up to 5 for the sky bridge.

Security is less than 10 minutes and then I’m either at the gate or listening to music in 20 minutes from parking.

ATL if someone sneezes there’s a back up and ground stop.

I find orlandos airport kinda charming because it is so 90s

leaving Denver is horrible, arrivals are solid. Trains straight to downtown is nice

Oakland and Philly are dumps.

I have never not been stuck on the runway flying out of New York

Old MSY was the absolute worst

By far my favorite. Short security lines and very easy to navigate

No way dude. ATL is a well oiled machine.
ORD and DFW are the worst for ground stops in my experience.

SLC is pretty efficient now that the new terminal is up and running - don't mind flying in and out of it. MSY is also super easy unless you need to rent a car.

ORL (credit Jor Jor for the edit) is absolutely my vote for worst. The crowd composition of Disney idiots plus the awful layout and dated lounges. frick that airport.

I’ve had nothing but shite luck in Ft Lauderdale and Key West. Lost baggage, delayed and canceled flights constantly, and overbooked flights. Just massive clusters every time we fly into those two

Atlanta is the best - incredibly efficient for its size, and you can take the MARTA right into it from the north part of the city, despite how people bitch about its accessibility.

Worst I've experienced domestically are probably LAX, Newark and O'Hare, in that order.

Absolutely agree. ATL is fantastic as a connection. Only originated there a handful of times but it was fine on those occasions. That place is run so smoothly for the ridiculous size it is.

I've got another thumbs up for DTW. Great airport. I actually like MSP but mostly for the niceness. It can be a bit of a bear to get around.

DFW is wretched in my opinion. That place is massive, takes way longer than ATL to move from terminal to terminal. It's insanely crowded and feels like it. Agree with LAX, ORD and EWR being awful. Just a fact. They suck.

I'll throw another that I can't stand...Kansas City. It's been about 5 years since I've been through there but it left a lasting impression of terrible for the 4-5x I flew into it.

You wouldn't have been if you saw what came before it. It was exactly what you would expect from the Ruins of Detroit. We used to refer to it as Pyongyang International. It may have been the worst major airport in N America Ever. Abysmal beyond description. Hot and humid inside 24/7/365. A McDonald's and something completely inedible were your only two restaurant options on the non-NWA side. NWA's terminal was not much better.

Sheesh Baw! That brings back memories I’ve been traveling to Detroit area to visit relatives all of life. McNamara terminal was built in early 2000’s. It’s amazing still & one of the best in US.

The. Something has gotten markedly better. I used to have to fly in and out of ATL 3-4 times a month. It sucked.

I’ve avoided it for years because of how bad it was.

This. I’ve flown through most of the worst in this thread and Kansas City was the absolute worst with the old terminal

LAX is a pain at times to get in and out of, but hardly one of the worst. Especially terminal 3 and the new Delta One Lounge.

Minneapolis is a pretty nice airport I recently pass through. Same with SLC.
Pittsburgh's airport is pretty spare. And a tad depressing.

ATL is great for connections/arrivals, but can be horrible for departures.

I have TSA precheck and missed a flight (along with 40 other people on my flight), because the precheck line took 1.5 hours, which is utterly ridiculous. The TSA precheck lines at other airports usually take 5-15 mins.

From many weddings in New Orleans, I learned that it was better to fly out on the first flight, still hammered and smelling like the Goldmine, than take a comfortable afternoon flight that almost certainly would be delayed.

spent many days in MSY where it would have been faster to drive to Houston than it was to wait for my delayed flight
