Bocage
Woodgate
LSU Lake Area

The UC and CCL areas are very nice but a good drive from being part of “Baton Rouge” LSU and downtown.

Very safe but a bit more modest would be West Minster/ Pine Park or Broadmoor.

Truth, now you have to be worried about being shot to death in broad daylight in all those areas

CCL
Santa Maria
neighborhoods off Highland near CCL.
Briarwood/Woodridge
Bocage

basically any neighborhood not near North Baton Rouge and has only 1 or 2 entrances/exits surrounded by cameras or has gates.

Depends on your life situation...
IMO no reason to live in BR if not as close as possible to LSU

college town
The dales (close to the lakes as possible)
Lake crest
University acres
Garden district (close to park)

Check out Woodridge/Briarwood. $300-$600K range. HOA only $500 / year. Decent sized lots.

The Boulevard De Province hood rats are licking their chops for a home invasion robbery.

Depends on what you like. IMO

The clear best is St. Francisville, nice and relaxed, good Schools.
South EBR has some good points but traffic is horrible, plus you have to send kids to private schools.
North EBR doesn't have much to offer, except Zachary.
Denham and Ascension can be good or bad, but better than most of EBR.
No matter where you are the roads are rough and traffic is terrible.

Port Allen,

I don't know enough about it to comment on it, but having to commute across the bridge seems enough to knock it out of the best 3. That assumes a commute of course, I don't know much about the job market in Port Allen.

It's where i live. Houses go up for sale on a friday and have agreements that afternoon. Been that way for a few years now.

Pre-divorce, the ex and I lived where Highland dead ends into Jefferson. Large lots, no cookie cutter housing. It was nice.

I moved to Mid-City recently and think it's great. Too bad the prices are astronomical and it's close to hood activities.

Sherwood and Goodwood just got shiny new roads last year. Plus the nightly gunshots are a few miles away, so it’s not that loud. Highly recommend.
