Public officials should not be signing NDAs when the public land/money is involved. That is bullshite.

Public officials signing NDAs is something I've never heard of and it sure as hell shouldn't be allowed. WTF

they built a crypto data center in my hometown last year and it did not go over well. It's a farming community, about 2k total pop. You can't miss this thing as you come into town.
They got atleast 15' walls around the whole the thing because it's so unsightly and they drilled a well for it since the city wouldn't approve more than a 1 inch line to their "plant" - once again similar issue that the city simply couldn't handle the water output needed.
As far as why they can't recycle the water, I wonder why the problem? Because they can't recyle water at the crypto plant either and they dump that shite right back in the White river, which connects right into the Arkansas which is a main tributary for the Mississippi.
This crypto plant didn't even come with jobs, it's completely remote. They just get a sweet tax break from it or something like that. It's owned by a chinese company out of Tennessee

Your average paper mill uses 50 million gallons of water a day

quote:HA! Jefferson County Alabama filed for bankruptcy in 2011, marking the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history, due to corruption and mismanagement related to its sewer system.
The people should file FOIA requests for the emails, writings, etc done by all of those officials and I hope that causes a breach of the NDAs where all those officials gets sued and go bankrupt for supporting this nonsense.

Not saying it's right, but it's pretty standard when cities are negotiating with these big companies that they will sign NDAs. Both sides are making offers and they dont want that info disclosed to competitors.
The problem is that most city council's are made up of dirtbags just looking to make a buck for themselves, at least in Alabama. Maybe it's different where yall live. If so, send a postcard.

I’ve done several of these deals. While all talks are behind closed doors and the jurisdictions use all the discretion they can, I’ve never had one sign an NDA. But I’ve also never even considered it.
And those are all during the proposal page. Once ground is actually broken or an agreement is signed, it’s public information and has to be.

Just because you don’t understand who has to substantiate an exemption doesn’t mean I don’t know shite.
The department of revenues interpretation of a statute and what a statute says are not the same thing unfortunately

Sounds like you are one. We should all be more than a little wary of the resources being diverted to this kind of thing.

They typically locate these mills next to rivers or large lakes and they pull the water directly. They don’t typically rely on municipal drinking water systems.

Climate change is a gotcha moment but the climate is always be changing. But climate change ain't be like those libetards make it out to be, but with that wording they ain't technically wrong as climate is be always changing.

Because it's probably a foreign country.
Most major data center providers require some level of confidentiality regarding their locations due to the sensitive, and often times government classified, information they maintain on their servers.
It could be a foreign entity, but the disclosure stuff isn't a firm piece of evidence of that.

All data centers are Texas are public information in a database on the states website…. Including the ones you have to get security clearance to work at and/or enter.
All the private owned ones anyway. I suppose there could be some government ones they don’t tell us about, but I don’t know how we wouldn’t considering they’re huge and loud as hell
