Why do I feel like they are saying it will weaken, but I feel like it won’t?

Yeah, pretty scary, also with that High they have sitting over the US then possibly moving east and allowing for more of a north track.
Makes me nervous, but still have plenty of time.

I think the system has gotten mature enough that it is creating its own path and strength.
It is surrounded by dry air that is not filtering into the system.
As it gets further west, there is more shear in the upper levels that could destabilize the system. Also, there is more land interaction that could impact the system more. Those lesser Antilles Islands are like a speed bump. Once it gets closer to Jamaica and Cuba they are more mountainous and the higher terrain can weaken some systems.

So that's like 182 mph. Is that a gust or is it considered to be a sustained wind?

What's the barometric pressure on this baby RN? Is it lowering? B/c we all know if it is then it's only gonna get stronger.

Seems the past few years the intensity models have been garbage. The storms always over perform on strength while track has been pretty close.

Still more of a northerly movement from last period.
