It’s been a unique start so far. This has to be the heaviest rain I’ve experienced with absolutely no thunder or lightning.

Was just thinking this same thing

Wind is blowing in major gusts so every 20-30 seconds it blows rain against my bedroom window and sounds like a god damn shotgun going off

Which of course means zero sleep yet somehow my pup at the end of the bed is paws up snoring without a care in the world

Same here near vintage park. If the bedroom window wasn't facing east it would be quiet

Power is out as of about 30 minutes ago in Atascocita. Pretty good gusts every so often.

Downtown adjacent. Lost power about 5 min ago. Wind gusts get pretty up there but the sustained winds not too bad. Saw some electric arcing in the direction of UH a little while ago too prior to the outages.

The graphics at the NHC may not update every hour, but the text advisories do or when they announce the landfall.

Made the drive from Kingwood to Texas City from 0430-0545 and that was gnarly. Transformers were blowing up left and right along 45. It looked like an alien invasion.

Power held on longer than I expected. Hopefully they will be quick in getting it back on once it passes.

Starting to see rainfall totals pile up. Not overly terribly hourly rates, but 4 to 5 inches in 3 hours down on Clear Creek is getting up there.
