Driving to Lake Chuck this afternoon from NOLA for a conference in the morning.
Should be in clear correct? Maybe just some rain bands and gusts?

Won’t be much different than driving through a normal summer afternoon with scattered thunderstorms

These cells are juiced with tropical moisture so expect quick heavy downpours in any thunderstorms. Lot of braking and flashers from those shitty Texas drivers.

We’ve never lost power where in the 3 years I’ve been here, hoping it’s just a lot of small limbs and leaves down. Looking at the wind projections it should only be bad for a few hours hopefully

Growing up in Baton Rogue. This feels a lot like Gustav where people underestimate the problems a strong CAT1 inland can bring.

As #Beryl comes ashore and moves inland over #Texas monday morning, there will be a chance for tornadoes within the rain bands on the eastern side of the storm. Below is one example of where the rain bands could be from the HAFS-A model, but note that band placement is hard to predict. @NWSSPC characterizes this tornado risk as "slight", but keep your weather radios or emergency notifications on tonight and tomorrow in eastern Texas and western #Louisiana

Fun Fact Trivia:

I’m normally a pretty positive person but this storm has really put a damper on what should have been an otherwise great weekend.
