And this probably had nothing to do with any kind of protest. They saw pro athletes doing it and wanted to be just like them .
I would love to ask all these kneelers in just what country could you get a better deal than the one you have in this country.
I'll wait for an answer...

I understand people getting upset, but I don't understand this line of thinking. They're exercising a right that very few countries in the world would ever give them. Every time one of these idiots kneels or does some other stupid gesture, I'm just reminded that we live in the greatest country in the world, a place that allows you to be a fool if you so choose.

It's great to see these young Americans following their conscience and bringing to light the corruption of the establishment forces in this countries. Maybe they will succeed in holding these corrupt, sick institutions to a higher standard in the future.

So what does kneeling or sitting actually accomplish?
What is the "next step" from here? Because I don't see anyone doing anything different to try and get a different outcome.
All it is are attention whores and they're following one another with no real sense of direction or purpose.
And for the record, the American Flag and what it stands for is the reason why they have rights to do what they're doing, even if it is disrespectful and tacky. That alone should be the reason why they should respect and honor what the flag has given to them. But unfortunately, you have a flock of uneducated sheep following an uneducated (about the subject), oppressed and overpaid millionaire quarterback.

When I was 8, my hockey team made it to the tournament championship game and before the game we all stood up for the Jimi Hendrix version.

Kneeling for the anthem is becoming this year's "planking"

The solution at this point is for everyone to kneel. Make kneeing the new standing. Then their gesture is meaningless.
Exactly. Before the anthem the game announcer should say "now stand or kneel to honor the national anthem." It would be great.

Who's ever heard of playing the national anthem at a pewee football game???
Posted on 9/15/16 at 8:53 am to FNG
FWIW most first world countries take their national anthems a lot less serious than Americans do.

yeah, kneeling is just a strong call to action. This misguided piece of shite --- someone explain how police brutality is related to disrespecting our National Flag.
quick question - has anyone ever seen another country burning and desecrating their own flag?? and if by some chance you did --- I wonder what the outcome was for the flag burner????
PS -
racial tensions will NEVER improve----
until INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNTABILITY improves..
good fricking luck.
