Not a fan of tight fitting clothing, feels uncomfortable

Following the Brad Pitt Fury haircut, I've noticed the new hipster trend (at least in my neighborhood) is driving motorcycles.
Damnit.

I refuse to take you seriously. Would never hire someone who looked like that. Shows poor judgment. Just like visible tattoos.
They probably wouldn't want to cut your grass for you either you lazy fatty.

Bring back the 90's. You either had zero facial hair or a goatee, that was it.

No you aren't because if you were you wouldn't disqualify someone who could make your business more profitable just because they wear slim pants and have a beard (unless the work policy is no facial hair and if it is then it isn't your business). My theory on you is that you have no idea how to even run a place of employment, with such idiotic comments.
I don't wear skinny's/slims or have a beard but I realize how stupid it is to disqualify someone who does. The only reason you probably dress the way you do is because you were told it's the "right" way to dress. Fashion trends come and go, deal with it baw.

I look weird without a beard.
You'll never catch me in skinny jeans though. My balls like to breathe.

This is something I struggle to understand.
Let me help you. Whether good, bad or whatever, business has a dress code. A giant pube beard and skinny pants rolled up with crazy socks just ain't it. Tattoos are even worse. Business is about making money, not about personal freedom and expression. Do that on the weekends and go sick with it. Customers about to drop a huge chunk of money on durable goods just will not trust someone who looks like that as much as a guy in decent shoes, slacks and a buttoned up shirt / tie. Plain and simple. Run a trendy bar? Have at it. Cool coffee shop? Be my guest. Doesn't hurt my feelings. Show up to an interview to work for a multi national billion dollar corporation dressed like that? Don't expect to get the job unless your resume proves you are some kind of quirky idiot savant with a history of results.
If there are two kids out of college, equally qualified, there isn't a lot to go off of. But let's say for the sake of argument, that one of them is dressed like a hipster (the beard, the glasses, the scarf and the pants, just slightly dressed up to look as professionally as possible) and one of them shows up in a jacket and slacks, I can guess that one of them researched the business much more extensively than the other. In my business, the one in the suit gets the job. He made the effort to research and know who he is dealing with.
He might have the tightest jeans available on Saturday night while sipping his mocha double frapped chai hookah flavored bourbon latte and listening to a band you wouldn't have heard of yet, but on Monday morning, he plays the part of a business professional.
Hell, I dress much differently on Saturday and Sunday than I do Mon-Fri, but I have the judgment and foresight to know that my job requires certain things, and I conform. I expect others to do the same so that our company can continue to make money by showing our customers that we are clean cut, no nonsense professionals.

you are a sad weak little man
Wrong. I am a man who makes money for the company that hired him and does what is expected of him, including conforming to the dress code.
That's what you don't get. It is not about you, your feelings or your freedom to express yourself through your facial hair and tight pants. It is about MAKING MONEY. If the winds of fashion shift to a point where customers find that dress appropriate, then it will fix itself. Until then, expect me to keep dressing as the professional world deems fit and hiring people who do the same, because that makes more money than hiring hipster dressers.
Again. It isn't personal. It is about making money.

You're overweight, aren't you?
Posted on 12/9/15 at 9:14 am to Slippy
Chicks dig it. If they wouldn't be getting laid, they wouldn't be wearing it.
That is a simple fact of "style" that always rings true.

All of muthafrickin this.
In life there are times when you have to play by the rules of the game. The smart man knows how to interpret those rules, play by them, and use them to his advantage. Bucking the rules for the sake of personal identity is fine, but expect to be spit out of the game.
Humans are social animals, those that understand the rules of their society and play by them have a much easier time becoming successful. Rebels are fine, but many more fail than succeed.
Rebel on the weekends, on your own time. Or make slight personal touches to your wardrobe to show your personal style and identity. But be smart enough to know where the line is drawn.
Sure, there are cases of "rebels" that are highly successful in a role that they traditionally shouldn't be accepted in. But they are by far the exception, not the rule.
There's nothing wrong with this. It's part of the social dynamic.

Men are supposed to be men, not a bunch of weak bitches. It's concerning to me that we still have men in management positions that want to imprint their ideas on fashion onto a potential hire.
It has nothing to do with that and more to do with not trusting a person because they obviously have poor judgement.

Another hipster thread I see. I'm def not a hipster, but I've had a beard of varying lengths for 20+ years. The jeans actually started with some function: bike messengers wore them to prevent getting their pants stuck in their bike chains. The whole hipster uniform is a Luddite throwback thing. It's pretty lame though when everyone's consciously trying to look a part.

I don't see how you people that wear jean that crunch your nuts. I need some relaxed fit jeans for some room to breath down there.
BTW... No beard, but my junk and undercarriage is smooth as glass!

Who shows up to a job interview in jeans regardless of the fit?
If you’re not hiring someone with a well-groomed beard who is perfectly qualified for the position just because of the mere fact that they have a beard, well, that’s strange to me.

What about overweight people? Or smokers? Where do you draw the line?
It has everything to do with being weak. You see something you don't agree with on a personal level and cast it off as unprofessional or poor judgement. If you want to be nothing more than a cog in a wheel that is all fine and well but to somehow think you are making better decisions by playing by someone elses rules is silly.
None of this applies to the people who actually make the rules, only those of you who fall in line and then run your fat mouth because someone has a bear and tattoos. Even the ones saying is not personal, its all about the money, blah blah blah, your argument still holds no water. If its only about the money and who's best at the job, then hire people while wearing a blindfold. Who gives a frick what they look like, its all about the money.
Zeal is not a measure of merit. Just because you passionate about what you consider professionalism, does not mean anyone gives a shite what you think.
Unless you are The Man at the top making the rules, you're nothing more than someones pawn. You're grasping at straws trying to justify your definition of professionalism when the reality is you, yourself, do not even have the option to make your own decisions. I always said my goal was not to be rich, but to just be me. I had a string of fortunate events that lead to where I am now in my life but I would have been just as happy picking up trash.
If you are ok with another man telling you to shave or how to dress, that's your prerogative. Do whatever you got to do to get ahead in life but don't pretend like you even have the option to do something else.

Sounds like somebody is mad he can't grow a beard or look good in skinnys.
