Very sleepy little town, lots of retirees
Demographics similar to Mandeville
Beach
Fishing
Quality food
Republican governor
Can be to Nola in 60 minutes
BR less than two hours
I see no reason to contribute to Turtle face’s salary
Sounds a little like Grand Isle
Grand Isle has all the pedophiles you have to contend with if you have children.

Here’s one I took.
ETA: it’s a bit different now, the first building on the right added on and removed that wrap around patio, and the hotel on the corner of Main is finished.

All of Old Town is great, streets on the other side of Stanislaus toward Balentine are nice, north of the Hwy to the Yacht Club is nice, the depot district will soon be really nice...

We moved to Old Town a couple years ago and freaking love it here.

Old Town has air bnbs so you can walk, bike, or golf cart to the bars and restaurants. It is great for a quick getaway.

Yeah we did an air bnb right down the street from the Blind Tiger a few years ago for the 4th. It was nice. I borrowed my friends boat and we had about 5 boats that left BSL and PCand went to Ship Island for the day. That was awesome.

Vehicle Tags are expensive based on the value of the vehicle. Drive an old truck and spend the money on a nice boat.

I'm considering Pass Christian if my son stays in the New Orleans area.

And where you live.
The ONLY reason to live in Long Beach is if you have school-aged children.

Everyone loves to make fun of MS, but people are figuring out it’s got a lot of benefits without JBE or Mayor Cantrell. Low taxes, low crime, low traffic, good outdoors, low cost of living and yet people love to knock it. Seems weird people love to knock a state with those things.

The Depot District will never have much going on, baw. There just isn’t a crowd out there for anything to survive except the little theater.

Pascagoula, sleepy little town with not much action. No Casinos, Major Hotels or chain restaurants. No commercial activity within a few blocks of the beach. I have at least 8 public boat launches within 15 minutes of home. We go to BSL and OS for entertainment.

Dear Louisiana people,
Please don’t move to Mississippi and vote in politicians like JBE, Broome, and LaToya Tha Destroya.
Sincerely,
A Mississippian

I’m guessing you haven’t seen it recently. There’s a barbecue restaurant (owners of 200NB, Creole Creamery, and PJs) just about to open in the second space, the first space is under construction, the 3rd and 4th spaces completely removed the street side wall and are completely glassing in the front (boutique and Pilates studios I think)...never say never.

I saw it Sunday but didn’t notice anything going on.

2 new BBQ joints will be nice. Can’t wait for the wings at Murky Waters.

BSL is a nice little town... but it’s small and surrounded by tons of poor. It’s more of a retiree place than a family place. It’s an hour from NOLA, but an hour drive will make you reconsider going down there unless it’s for a whole day trip.
Ocean Springs is nicer. There’s more money and younger people / families. You are closer to the real beach as opposed to NOLA, so it’s a trade off.
I guess it depends on what your social life is. As stated, it offers some good amenities for retirees or empty nesters. If you like a classy town with easy access casinos and Jimmy Buffett bars, than BSL may just be the place for you.
