quote:Yeah this is what our kids daycare is doing. My wife wanted to go buy all that stuff and I told her, frick that...Instead of a bunch of little things, just consolidate it all into one gift thats actually worth a shite.
List of items to bring to the teachers each day, with each teacher specifying their favorite things. Gifts cards to restaurants, food products for the teachers lounge, flowers, candles, amongst other things.
Pretty ridiculous.

I hear Mingo Was His NameO always gives teachers the best gifts to show his appreciation.

Most PTOs request teachers give out a list of things they like so students or parents of students can get the teacher something for birthday/Christmas/special occasion etc. It's likely not a list of demands, rather a list for guidance and ideas.

I appreciate them every June, July, and half of August when my tax dollars pay their salary for not doing a damn thing.

Teacher here, I don't expect a damn thing and any school that tries to guilt/convince parents to send teacher something is retarded. Now if a student wants to bring me a Dr. Pepper that great. But we shouldn't expect anything.

Came to thread expecting pics of teachers that got caught having sex with students.

Never had one of the kids teacher not appreciate a gift card to some generic chick loving store.
Target gift cards go over very well

Gift cards, nothing else. Everything else ends up in the trash. Don't bring home cooked goods. They don't trust parents enough to eat their cooking, even if the intentions were solid.

My daughter is a teacher and I could say she would like a target gift card

Actually your “tax dollars in the months of June, July, and maybe 8 days of August” go to no teachers. Teachers get paid for 182 days of the year. Teachers actually do work during the summer for no pay, as in conferences, workshops, lesson planning, setting up classrooms etc. They also work many hours during the school year, such as community nights, working sports games, etc for no extra pay..
Get to know a teacher, before assuming ...

If I had to guess, Probably a PTO group set that up

Yea I’m not expecting anything from my kids. Got a couple letters that another teacher forced them to right and I’m sure there will be some sort of lunch or something one day and that’s plenty for me.

I’m giving the teachers my teenage son. No pics.
