Anyone else experience delays out of BR?
I ordered an item on eBay last week that was supposed to be delivered Monday in Chicago area.
Last update says in transit arriving late in Baton Rouge

Yes, Baton Rouge and other areas are having issues because of the obvious (CoviD) and not so obvious (new postmaster general and rule changes).

I just had this happen this evening, and it happened last week as well.
I live in a regular house that isn’t gated or inaccessible. My guess is the delivery person is running behind so they mark their last X amount of packages undeliverable.
I’m not really angry about it since that’s late to still be at work, but still definitely something new that’s happening.

We attempted to deliver your package at 6:12 pm on July 22, 2020 in BATON ROUGE, LA 70808 but could not access the delivery location. We will redeliver on the next business day.

Usually, in this case, it was misloaded on a different truck and needed a scan

Yea I have had two priority mail envelopes that are just fine until they hit BR. What should be 3 days has turned into 2 weeks each time. My last package sat in BR for 5 days and one package was lost so I filed a claim only to find out BR had it for nearly 1 week and never scanned it.

The post office cut all overtime work so a lot of mail is taking days later to get to people.

There is talk that the mail may be delivered a day later than normal in the future. Post office is broke....

Not technically, but here's one issue:
I ordered something from Amazon last Sunday, then something on Monday. Both were shipped via UPS Sure Post. Both were scheduled for delivery on Thursday. The second order was delivered on Wednesday by UPS. Cool.
The first order missed its Thursday delivery. I got the typical Amazon late package message that said it would arrive Friday or Saturday. Nope and nope. They don't deliver on Sunday, so I figured Monday. Meanwhile, the tracking is all messed up. It said that delivery had been attempted, but the business was closed, and that business location was in a different city than my address, and I used my home address....not a business. Two full days went by with nothing on tracking. Monday passed without delivery. Tuesday came, and the usual UPS time passed with no delivery.
So, I called the UPS number that Amazon provided. I got an automated message of course. Finally, after hoop jumping, it told me that, "Since the package was shipped via UPS Sure Post, it would be delivered by the USPS."
But, what about the other package that was shipped by UPS Sure Post, but was delivered by a UPS driver? I was befuddled, and was about to try calling Amazon, because they weren't giving me the refund option. I checked the mailbox, and it was there. The Amazon delivery confirmation that I finally got said, "Delivered: Left at front desk of office." It was the strangest Amazon delivery I've had.

There are people in this thread with mail over a week late. A day late would be a fricking improvement.
I've got something that made it all the way to Baton Rouge according to tracking and has been sitting with no progress or new information since the 15th.

Check the front desk. That's where it said mine was. Nevermind that my house doesn't have a front desk.

Yep. My packages, aside from Amazon have been 3-4 days late after being stuck in Baton Rouge. Amazon seems to get special treatment as my 2 day shipping has only been extended to 3 at the most.

Yes package was supposed to arrive on the 20th. The tracking system says it’s going to be late and hasn’t been updated as to where it is located in 6 days.

Happening in NOLA too - several EBay purchase I’ve made lately are showing up a few days late where it looks like they are just sitting in the NOLA distro center.

I've had several packages that show tracking info for a day or two and then just say "your shipment is in the USPS system", it'll stay there for days, then magically appear at the BR sort facility where it sits for another day or 5 and then finally it'll show up.

This is why we need government in control of our healthcare system. What could go wrong
