OLOL fundraiser stealing from the foundation to jet around for LSU and Saints games

Never got the full story on this one.

Seemed OLOL was helping funnel money to players before NIL.

OLOL likely got us a natty lol

This is about that Rice girl. I think a lot of people are making assumptions about what happened. I don't know if they know there was more than one person at the scene so there might not be anyone there who can "rat out" on the shooter.

The flooding that occurred in 2016 should be considered a scandal as well as the flooding a few years later, I think it was in 2021, in sections of Baton Rouge.

I don't recall the Son's of Silence / Sugars scandal. What were the details?
The story as I recall was a couple of "young ladies" working at this establishment got tired of being abused and one smacked one of the bikers and stabbed him. Might have been a pool cue and a broken bottle involved. A few others may or may not have helped out with some of this grisly task. He staggered out and died before they could get across the street to the hospital. (The name Norby comes to.mind?) The women were brought to EBR lock up where some bikers kindly offered to bail them out...
The jail personnel said they had to go since bail had been posted, but the women wisely refused to sign the conditions of release so they stayed in custody until they could arrange for bail under their own terms.
I think that the killing was finally determined to have been justifiable.
I think this was also when one of their brothers came from out of town to attend the funeral while on federal supervised release and got arrested for felon in possession of a firearm. He had left his assigned area without permission and was firing a pistol shot at the funeral - a traditional farewell. He was guilty, but I thought that one situation was unfortunate. He was really just paying respect.
But getting caught on film violating federal law has consequences.
Been a very long time (1987?) so I might have a few details confused. Feel free to correct me where I may have erred.

it was called Vincent's Restaurant. Offspring from the one located in NOLA.
Dang that was a while back but I member.

Isn’t the location of Vincent’s the site of the current Superior on Highland?

Any recommendations on books covering this scheme?

On Madoff or Stanford ? If Madoff, this guy was the OG whistleblower:

No One Would Listen - Harry Markopolos

There is a lot of overlap between the two. There’s some belief Markopolos was involved in exposing Stanford as well.

IIRC, it was still Giovanni's. Giovanni sold it to his cousin and the scandal occurred under his ownership. Vincent's came later.

I'm pretty sure that there was a Vincent's in the Giovanni's location briefly.
