The guy clearly was pulling his gun as the guy was drawing back to punch. It is a safe bet that if you encounter someone in that part of the city he is packing. You never throw down with someone who is armed with a gun. It would be hard to find one that isn't carrying. Why even go there? I am sad for the loss of another person who could still be alive if he would have just walked away.

Why would this not be self defense for the shooter? There was a threat, the man swung, the shooter pulled his gun in fear of his life and used force to deescalate the threat. I guess him leaving the scene doesn’t help, but I see a case of self-defense.
