I remember those ads and going to those gun shows

Yep, quite a few times. I remember around that time picking up some SKS’ at the old Bellemont ballroom. Picked them up for like 89 bucks a piece and great condition. Not anymore though, not for that money, that’s for sure. Back then you could pick up really good quality Enfields for around 100 bucks or so.

Man, I used to love me some America.

Went in 1989 and my buddy picked up an M1 Garand 30.06.
We were 17 at the time

I probably still have some Black Talons from those gun shows. IIRC that's about the only place you could find them because they had the reputation of being "cop killers"

We had it made in the 90’s.

Such a better time before all of society’s weirdos were given a platform

"Sure as shootin, I'll probably see you there" my arse. For years I went to the show with pops and we never saw Heather. I was looking too.

To be fair balls, she said "probably". Not "certainly".

Fair point Festus. If that's all she said. Be she prefaced the "probably" with "sure as shooting". Some mixed signals Heather was giving, imho.

They played this same exact commercial for the gun show in B’ham. Same girl, same shotgun, same “sure as shooting’, I’ll probably see you there” catchline at the end.

And she lied, I never saw her arse once.

Guy who ran all those shows is the dad of one of my HS classmates. The kid now runs a lot of the shows east of Louisiana.

I believe his sister runs the ones in Louisiana and I’m not sure if she is the one from the ads.

I seem to recall that former Shreveport Times columnist Teddy Allen wrote a piece about Heather back in the 90s or thereabouts. Maybe she was living in the Memphis or Nashville area. If anyone has a newspapers.com account, maybe they can find it.
she was from where ever that gun show circuit was based and yes I believe it was in knoxville, Tennessee. Based on where proofs for ads we sent them in late 90s.

I haven’t talked to him since I saw him at a wedding several years ago so, no, I figure I can’t swing it.

Every time after she would say “sure sooting I’ll probably see you there”. My dad would reply “you won’t see me there”. Ever. fricking. Time.
