Kid needs to go to drivers ed before getting a learners permit. Are there any that don’t cost an arm and a leg? And that are good, of course.

Have you seen BR drivers?

Scruffy is pretty sure none of them are good.

Fair point. I was in the Trader Joe’s shopping center this afternoon and I’m not exaggerating, almost witnessed 3 accidents in a single row while driving down it. 2 of them almost caused by the same car.

You probably shouldn't have any of the mouthbreathers in any parish in the BR Metro area teach your kid, then.

Seriously. If you were born in BR and you drive, slap yourself. Hard. I wish bad driving were more lethal.

I think they all cost about the same. There was/is a cheap on in Ascension Parish but they had a lot of complaints about them.

We used Mom's Driving Academy.

Louisiana requires teens to complete a 30 hour classroom and 8 hour behind the wheel class in order to get a learners permit.

People in BR drive like shite. It is like every time going thru a green light, the assholes are going to put on brakes, but yet, run a red light. WTF?

OP, take your kid outside of BR to learn how to drive.

Take them to an empty parking lot to learn the very basics.. the old Schwegmans or The Real Super Store

Then take them to a large neighborhood, like Shenandoah, to get some seat time for a while

Then have them do parking drills in the new mall

Then driving school of your choice

Tiger Driving School on Antioch is the one we used. Bring kid to parking lot and let them drive thru neighborhood before you send them to school.

Hard to believe kids don't drive until it's time for Dr Ed. Growing up around a farm and having a camp I'd drive on the interstate at 13 coming back from duck hunting in J Bayou after leaving our camp in Hackberry.

shite, I had my first governed go cart when I was 6... was driving my dad's tractor at 10 and bush-hoggin at 12... backing down boat ramps at 13 and nailing it every time

Suburban kids these days don't get that kind of training until joeblow at Driving Academy USA shows them the basics... damn shame if you ask me
