Southpark is just as bad as Blvd de Province
What has saved Southpark from turning into a warzone is the hundreds of Hispanics that moved into the area and primarily just keep to themselves.

Boulevard de Province hood rats causing major issues in the area.
Not anymore - there are hood rats all over the place thanks to the apartments, rental homes, and ‘transitional housing.’ I think the Blvd de Province individuals stay on their side of I-12

There are plenty of gangbangers in that massive Sherwood Acres complex on Coursey. Once upon a time those were pretty decent apartments too.

Yeah I forgot about the South Park area. The place probably looks like a war zone now. There’s pockets of Cedarcrest that are pretty sketchy

Once upon a time I lived there
But yes - there are pockets of trouble in almost all the neighborhoods along Coursey/Sherwood

I don't know how long ago but I had friends that lived there in the 90s and they were fine.
I had friends who lived off of Blvd de Province and GSRI too back then. I don't think it can be understated how far a lot of these places have fallen in 25 years.
Do you know those ghetto apartments at the corner of S Harrell's Ferry and ONeal? My wife and I used to live back there
Never heard a gunshot. Never had our vehicles burglarized.

Plenty has changed in that time frame

I remember that HS kid who played football for Tara HS was shot to death in the ONeal Ln area a few years back. He had multiple scholarship opportunities.

Just to compare, there have been 166 murders in the city of St. Louis this year so far.
Of course, the larger metro area with more shitty areas would dwarf Baton Rouge overall, the rate for just the city itself is lower than for Baton Rouge.

I don't know what it is now but about halfway through the year BR was trailing only Baltimore in murder rate. We are generally not on a lot of lists you see on websites because of the population requirements.
