That section hasn't been updated since it was built in 1962.

Actually about a decade ago they re-striped the 10-110 merge and made it a tiny bit better believe it or not. It used to be even worse somehow. So they have updated it a tiny bit.

The state claims not to have the money but still throws cash away on projects with much more local focus and far less greater impact. And they do it every year.

I don't get this at all. That area isn't a major problem. Kick back to Angelle perhaps?

It's JBE's annual "frick you" to Baton Rouge I guess.

I guess they never thought population would increase over 40 years. EBR is the most populated parish in the state, they can't keep ignoring this because not just BR residents have to use that stretch of 10.

They've been doing it for 40 years. As far as they are concerned, they'll do it for another 40.

That's the excuse they use...but what is really stopping it in this case is the governor's office.

No I haven't but I've seen the national rankings where Louisiana and Mississippi battle for last place.

Then most move to Texas, where you can have 7 lanes in spots across I-10

I can’t speak for Shreveport’s schools but I know many bossier schools have either gotten updates or brand new schools built.

Airline just rebuilt two of its wings brand new, opened this year. Three story buildings.

Parkway got a brand new school built in like 2010

Benton High School is about to be built a brand new school.

Multiple brand new elementary schools built within the last decade.

I think Bossier High is about to get a revamp on its campus.

Pretty much every classroom in the Parish has a smartboard. Pretty much all students have laptops.

The only bad part about it is demos are starting to shift big time.

For example, my mom teaches at Stockwell Elem. she’s been teaching there since 1996. Starting in ‘96 it was probably a 95% White school. It was pretty much always a blue ribbon school, some of the highest marks in the state for public schools. But those houses around the school are starting to get old and starting to lose value and they started busing in kids from the Meadowview district to Stockwell. Meadowview is a school about five minutes away and it’s in the middle of the hood. They started doing this about 7-8 years ago, now the school is probably 70-30 or maybe 60-40 white to minority.

Funny that their scores are dropping even though they’re still keeping high marks. And they’re starting to have huge discipline problems.

Most of the white people are moving to Benton districts or nice Shreveport areas.

No they changed the flow of traffic. 110 used to be 3 lanes but they changed it to 2 there. 10 used to be even worse but they continued the right lane farther and gave people more time to merge.

Widening would already be underway had JBE not found a way to divert the money earmarked from Congress to instead widen the stretch of interstate between the end of the basin bridgr and the Opelousas exit.

IMO this is enough to justify burning down the Governor's Mansion. fricking JBE.

Whoever runs against JBE in the next election should run only on this. The entire city of BR, black and white, would vote as a bloc for him.
