Bass Pro development on I-12 may be home to an IKEA or Nebraska Furniture Mart

Though far from certain, if successful the shop would be the first IKEA to open in Louisiana. The Swedish-company has a store in Houston and is known for its ready-to-assemble furniture and modern home decor.
While IKEA passed on opening any new stores in the U.S. last year, Moore plans to pitch Denham Springs as a possible destination at a Las Vegas real estate convention in the spring.
“(Denham Springs) is on the interstate and Bass Pro is a (regional) destination already,” Moore says. “We already have traffic flow going there from Bass Pro and Sam’s, we just don’t have a third super anchor.”
And we thought traffic on I-12 was bad now.

Seems like IKEA's furniture would clash with all the A Hays Town knockoff houses around here.

I went to Bass Pro during the holidays and was surprised how much more they've built over there. Eventually it will go all the way down to 4H.

Seems like Mall of Louisiana area would be a better spot for something like that. Either way, I hope Louisiana gets an IKEA.
A lot of folks were frustrated that Memphis got one over Nashville. Construction had just started when we moved away.

I've never seen anything like a Nebraska. It was insane and redic too big. I don't think we got 40% through it and just gave up.
To be fair to Ikea, it's two completely different price points and customer bases.

IKEA is some of the shittiest furniture you can buy. It’s walmart furniture but because it’s Swedish it’s cool. NFM is 100x’s better.

Cortana could push the same news release. It just says they're pitching the company. Maybe he's encouraging some other more promising tenants to go ahead and sign.

I do not see the market being large enough for them to survive. They usually setup in large metro areas with over $1 million people in the metro area.
