We should definitely be giving the plants property tax deferrals. They add so much quality to our lives

How’s the cancer? Bet the schools are shite to, since they have no money. If you work there you’re sending your kids to private cause the company you work for doesn’t have to pay their taxes. It’s all a giant circle jerk.

Louisiana is a more poor Mississippi without the petro chemical industry.

They lead to direct and indirect employment of tens of thousands around here. So yeah - let's totally throw that out with the bathwater.

More like a poorer El Salvador. Half the people in that fricking state already don't work.

lol yea im sure its the chem plants driving cancer rates not the absurb rates of obesity, smoking, alcohol and other life style things huh?

as far as school... my kids do go to private, but its more to do with demographics, not the schools themselves.

A) you realize the tax breaks are only for 10 years right and without them we would lose those expansions? they would go to texas, so better to get something after 10 years than nothing for all.

B) you realize overall louisiana collects very high taxes comparatively and spends a ton per student

ever think that maybe demographics play a part or are you too stupid and liberal to be able to think that away?

I haven’t heard any sirens going off. I live down Hwy 30 near the hospital.

I don’t think this is true. If it is, then I’m very mad at our local government for not informing the damn public!

Maybe just do some research gee before letting everyone know you are a mouth breathing moron.

Plus they produce stuff you use everyday. Like detergents and toothpaste.

I have relatives as well as friends who work there and none of them have ever sent their children to private school. Ascension parish arguably has some of the very best public schools in Louisiana.

I haven’t heard anything, and them siren tests are loud as hell every Monday at noon.

Nothing on any news outlets either, but I’ll listen to Biggie’s “Ready to Die” when I go walk the dog in a few.
