Some nice stuff up for grabs. I think that 66 E-Type was at the NOLA auction.

weep for every chopped up '63 split window I see these days.

I wonder how many of these were actually split windows from the factory. You can purchase the entire rear deck assembly, windows, fuel filler extension and create your own from a convertible. Of course, the VIN will still ID it as a convertible, but someone truly interested in its purchase would have already discovered it and factor that into his bid.
At one time, there was a kit offered that you could reinstall the window spine and windows for those unfortunate 63 owners that cut it out for improved visibility to the rear.

I think Mecum paid to be exclusive on motor trend a few years ago.

Mecum has far more events and is more attractive to TV companies than Barrett Jackson because of this. They most certainly get paid to be on MT.

Who would buy this K5 in 1989 and then park it?

May as well keep it parked, or plan on replacing every bit of plastic and rubber on the thing...

Saw one of these yesterday and it looked incredibly stupid with the roof spoiler and a little fender in the front. It also seemed lowered. Just completely ruined the look of a great vehicle. It looked like a remote control car

On the other hand this would be awesome to have in a zombie apocalypse

I appreciate the fact that most 6x6 vehicles out there have apocalypse in their name too

Found some cool Zs I’d be interested in.

My dad had a 72 240Z. It would be awesome to still have it. I can still remember the feel, the smell, etc. There's a youtube channel on restoring a 73. LINK One thing I noticed on that video is the steering wheel. Ours had a factory wood steering wheel and gear shift. Like this:

But at the auction, this one is sharp.
1972 DATSUN 240Z LS CUSTOM COUPE

One of the most common things heard at a car show, "I wish I still had it..."
I wish you still had it as well.

Be interesting to see what that In violet/white 1971 hemi cuda sells for. 71’s are already the most desirable and the lowest production model year of all the hemi cars and this is by far the most desirable color combo. 71s usually go between 350-750. I bet this one might get close to mil. Definitely would if it were a 4 speed.

I’m not a big car guy, but I got invited by a company that I work with and was given a stage pass for the day. It was an extremely cool experience.

What is not mentioned in the description is the 63 RPO Z06 came with a 36 Ga fuel tank. The 20 Ga was standard on others. That's a pretty snug fit in that area.

Years ago I was into Zcars big time. Had a 78 280, and a 72 240. A friend knew I was into them, and told me about one that had been sitting behind a business for years. I went and looked at it, and was a total rust bucket. I was kinda in disbelief when it turned out to have been the 48th zcar off the assembly line.

Unfortunately it was too far gone for my broke arse to even consider it at the time.
