I'm just wondering why every package that you buy in a grocery store does not have the barcode on all six sides or both sides for a wedge package.

if you think about it when you walk up and put your stuff on the conveyor belt, you would make cashier's job easier. but when you're in self-checkout you got to flip that thing over about 80 times.

The barcode is not that big and they can put it on all six sides of ultra, especially on the 18 packs my favorite. that way you only have to lift it up once. but they don't do that. and I'm not a genius. but I think there's a reason.

sorry about the capitalization but I voice to text cuz I have fat thumbs and a small phone.

Learned a few weeks ago everything is moving to QR codes these days.

And you have to pay for a barcode.

Many packages have the bar code on multiple sides. Many items in the grocery stores are not in a uniform type of size.

I like reaching into my cart and grabbing both my pack of yogurt covered raisins along with a 4-pack of ribeyes.

Then scanning the only the barcode of the raisins.

I only use self-checkout, to ensure I avoid any possible human contact

Then if the package is a little wrinkled it won't read the bar code. My butler tells me my sous chef hates that.

I think Aldis absolutely decorates their products with barcodes.

hey can put it on all six sides of ultra,

You drink the worst excuse for shitty beer trying to prove you live an active lifestyle, and don't grok that there are multiple barcode readers, on both the X and the Y axis, at decent grocery stores, that will scan the UPC twice for one product?

Of course you can't figure that out. Your drunk arse is probably on film waving the 18 pack of shite beer at the security camera wondering why it isn't scanning.

I don’t work for the store, so I don’t use self checkout.

I was thinking the same thing. Multiple bar codes on a package and some of them are large enough to read across the room. They make scanning really easy.

If you were smart, you would load your shopping cart with the barcodes visible. I know it can be done, because that is how I do it. Then I use the hand scanner to scan everything without even having to remove the stuff from the cart.

For the smaller stuff, I will remove it and bag it. The larger stuff never leaves the cart.

Some places, like Sams and Walmart, have apps that allow you to scan the items when you remove them from the shelf. You don't even need to go through the checkout line.
