Wow.
This reminds me of a boss I used to have. He'd bring his Crackberry in the bathroom and text all the time. He never turned off the sound so you could hear him typing...it was funny as hell. However he violated "man law" multiple times. 3 stalls...I always chose the one closest to the wall...he'd ALWAYS sit in the middle one....and no one was in the 1st one.

I was next to some moron who was actually on the phone when on the pot, I could hear his end of the conversation quite clearly. I made sure the person on the other end heard multiple flushes.

No but if you selectively enforce it, or you claim what people are doing on their bathroom Is definitely against the law. Because an employee fired because he was too long in the bathroom is going to look great in a judges eyes. In fact just having the program is probably pretty damning.

I think you are better off not treating your employees like children and trying to regulate their bathroom time. If you have to go so far as worrying about employees with something as basic and personal as bathroom breaks then you just need to get new employees.

How about instead of implementing this silly draconian policy, you sit down with them like a grown adult and tell them that you understand sometimes you gotta go blast mud for a half hour but it can't be a daily event because you're not paying them to be on their phone?

Happened to me the other day as well. Like who the frick does that?
Also, it pisses me off that we have a bunch of roaming squatters from other floors come use our restroom. Some days it’s hard to take a shite because there is a steady flow of guys from other floors using our bathroom all day. I really wish they’d put a passcode on it.

When I worked in restaurants, fake pooping was my only break throughout the day. Smokers got breaks all the time and never got in trouble but if I went to the smoking area just to relax for a minute, I’d get in trouble. It was either fake poop or pick up a bad habit.

This is a dumb AF idea. How would you plan on enforcing this? Take everyone’s phone before they enter the bathroom? Everyone will hate you for this. Using your phone while taking a shite is one of life’s more simple pleasures
