Any idea if MeMaw is going to extend the order past 5 pm on Friday? My son’s baseball team is playing a tournament in Madison and was wondering if we are all going to have to mask up.

If you mean Madison TN, it's in Davidson County and the mask mandate is active there.

The answer is there almost certainly will still be a mask mandate. It is very likely the Governor will extend the mask mandate for at least 2 more weeks. Also, assuming you’re talking about Madison, AL, then Madison County already had a mask ordinance in place before the statewide order. So, even if the Governor doesn’t extend the mandate, Madison County would still have a mask mandate in place. Short answer: bring your mask.

FYI, Madison County, Madison City, and Huntsville City police have all said, without outright saying, they have no intention of enforcing the mask mandate.
However, I'm sure you will have to deal with a throng of angry, agitated Karens if you don't wear it.

I live in Madison, and I can attest that there are plenty of Karen's in this city that'll be more than happy to explain to you the necessity of wearing a mask...even if you are outside and staying at least 6 feet away from folks.

Same shite happened here. All the Karens rallied on NextDoor until they pestered the shite out of the city council here to pass a mask mandate.

FWIW; My house cleaning lady along with multiple other parents tested positive after attending their kids travel ball tourny last month.

I'm honestly not sure what all the mask mandate applies to with youth sports. My daughter had preseason soccer camp last week, and full practice starts up tomorrow. They're wearing masks out to the fields and in common areas and bathrooms, but not wearing them while practicing. And this is in Jefferson County, where we had a mask mandate prior to the state one.
