They are definitely repopulating and I'm glad to see it. Always see about 3 or 4 every time I drive on the spillway and I've seen 2 flying around BR in the last couple weeks.

I know you are being cute but cannibalism is usually used when the eating is intra-species.

Most bald eagles eat mainly fish or that's what they prefer and while they will eat almost anything else that is a target of opportunity from birds to small mammals though they tend to put red meat last on their list.

Here is a video of a golden trying to snatch a toddler, it can't quite carry him off and drops him.

Jesus that is an arcane reference, don't tell me you just googled it, I would like to think you have been keeping that in your pocket for years waiting for just the right time.

I noticed it was produced by Blackhawk Films, quite a raptor theme they had going on.

Is the big bald eagle nest still there near the 10/310 split coming off the spillway

I looked for it last visit driving into and leaving. Couldn't locate it.

There were eagles in both nests last spring; one just north of the I-10/-310 split and the other a couple of miles 'west' on the right side.

BTW, I-10 Kenner to LaPlace is really a beautiful drive - eagles, marsh, swamp, lake, pelicans.

Used to see one perched in the cypress trees by I-10 at the LA-TX border; south of I-10 LA side.

Yep, and not to mention, keep an eye on very small dogs, for those of you who own them.....
