baked potato chips aren't bad..why was this so hard to come up with 20 years ago

is this the best way the manufacturers could come up with to reduce the oil in chips 20 years ago vs just baking them instead?

I set my oven to 350 degrees, cut two potatoes into small slices, drizzle olive oil, sea salt, and pepper, and bake until crispy.

Better than anything I buy at the store, tbh.

they're not that bad. we got lunch delivered and my sandwich box contained some baked lays and i didnt think they were half bad.

I made some cheese fries like that. Came out on par with some of the better ones around town(I like Sammy's and Outback). Pleasantly surprised considering the healtier ingredients and process.

On certain days I then cover it with lean ground sirloin, avocado, fat free refried beans, and a little bit of salsa. Boom. You have a pretty good meal.
