Bad arse historical quotes
1. King Philip II of Macedon started invading the crap out of Greece. After he had several key footholds under his command, Philip decided to start putting pressure on Sparta, and sent them the following threatening message: “If I win this war, you will be slaves forever.

The Spartan’s sent back a single word in reply: “if”.

2. When King Philip was expanding his empire across Greece, he sent a letter to the current Spartan king, asking if he wanted him to enter his lands as a friend or a foe. The only response Philip ever received was yet another single-word reply: “Neither.”

3. Gengis Khan- I am the punishment of God. If you would not have committed sins than God wouldn't have sent me.

If he wouldn’t have been busy totally ravaging Oshmans Sporting Goods, he might have spent a little more time in English class.

re: Bad arse historical quotes
Fellow citizens and compatriots;
I am besieged, by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna. I have sustained a continual Bombardment and cannonade for 24 hours and have not lost a man. The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise, the garrison are to be put to the sword, if the fort is taken. I have answered the demand with a cannon shot, and our flag still waves proudly from the walls. I shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism and everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid, with all dispatch. The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily and will no doubt increase to three or four thousand in four or five days. If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible and die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor and that of his country. VICTORY or DEATH.

They are a damn sight better than the Army. At least we know they’ll be here in the morning.

-Chesty Puller

(Puller said the gem above after being asked to comment on the 22 Chinese divisions surrounding his First Marine division. The First Marines successfully broke through Chinese lines and advanced south, destroying seven of the Chinese divisions in the process.)

quote:

“There are not enough chinamen in the world to stop a fully armed Marine regiment from going where ever they want to go.”

-Chesty Puller

quote:

All right. They’re on our left, they’re on our right, they’re in front of us, they’re behind us...they can’t get away this time.
