I'll categorize the greatness of super Krewes this way:
-Kid/ young teen Bacchus(Majestic)
-College/ pre-kids Endymion(great parade/ great crowds)
-Adult with kids Toth(Seems to always be a great day)

Most of my Endymion Float went to SEC schools but most went to Med School somewhere else but did our residency at Charity Hospital

Nope. No where near what Iris and Cleopatra have on the girls side. That being said I don’t believe they want to be that large.

That’s a pretty spot on assessment…

Yeah not everyone on my float graduated from SEC schools. Well, to clarify, the attorney and doctor directly to my left went to LSU. But the PHD engineer next to them went to Columbia.

Let me rephrase what I meant, Canceling the parade for the scheduled night and having to go on another night. They did it in 06, 11, would have in 12 but the city told them either they roll on sat or don’t roll at all. And almost in 17. Every year with a threat of rain they want to pull the plug. All that shite is waterproof. It seems like most years if there is a threat of rain, we wait around till last min to decide if we are going to roll or not.

Oh so by cancel you meant reschedule. You should just say so. And yeah that shite can get wet, but have you ever ridden in a thunderstorm? It sucks balls

Who is we?

Correct, they have a large wait list.

What about Krewe d'État? Are they cool? Or do they have neck beards too?

The best parade of Carnival.

Yes. I've had two cousins that were the Dictator and one good friend.

Highly doubtful.

I rode in it once, I had a good time. Definitely didn't get to ride through to the Superdome and I didn't see a bunch of hot chicks. But I did get to drink warm bourbon out of a flask from an old guy wearing a mask.

Julie was warned of the perils but didn’t listen. Once you hit a certain membership size the price of putting on events increases dramatically.
My wife rides in Cleopatra and I think they’re to this point. But maybe not because of the nickel and diming that they subject their membership to, not to mention how many they cram on their floats; borderline criminal relative to what goes on in other Krewes. I actually believe that most of their riders know no better and if women are lining up to pay for that treatment then more power to the Krewe.

Tomato /Tomotto

I’ve been a member of Endymion and have ridden since the late 90s and a lieutenant of Bacchus since 06. Ridden both back to back for many years. It seems that Endymion is always the ones freaking out about weather. I have ridden in thunderstorms and rain and it’s the cards you are dealt. I remember riding in 2012 when Endymion tried pulling out last min and were told to roll tonight or not at all as they missed their window to re schedule. That was a monsoon but all was fine. All this is coming is a front with a little rain and then done. Just suck it up.

I suppose you had access to the membership database.

Only SEC diplomas count?

A few years ago Endymion had riders from 49 states.

No one will miss you when you don’t show up…??

Bacchus floats are works of art while Endymion floats have lots of flashy lights but not much more.

Bacchus has phenomenal floats, but Endymion has incredible works of art for floats too. See the Ponchartrain Beach float.

Both are great and are in a class above the other krewes . I think everyone knows it . They are different both are spectacular when someone sees one for the first time they know that that’s a different parade from a typical krewe I understand that other krewes have upped their game but I just think Bacchus and Endymion are at a higher level kind of like Tiger Stadium at night for a big game versus a random game against an FCS opponent
