It's a party. You don't have to go. Or you can go and enjoy some time with people that are presumably your friends.

Every GRP I've been to was always about the woman. All the gifts are for her, not the kid. All the women who have them are the same too. And what if it's a hermaphrodite?

Yes

Absolutely.

Then take your pick.
1. You're an oblivious dumb frick
2. You're a troll

Every female in your extended family most certainly cares about baby gender. Every male in your extended family most certainly cares if a new male is joining them.

Now go play somewhere else, troll baby gender lover.

Only a beta would allow his lady to elevate to this level of attention seeking. Reveal parties need to die.
I hope some of y'all aren't married. And if you are, your wife's must hate you

Wife: can we have a reveal party?
Husband : what do we have to do?
Wife : nothing. Just show up and drink and eat and talk with your friends
Husband: absolutely not you attention seeking whore

Right. So throwing a party where she is the center of attention (after all the social media attention and other baby showers) is "caring for the baby?" No. Eating right and not smoking or drinking while pregnant is caring for the baby. Having a roof over its head is caring for the baby. Trying to one up her friends on Pinterest or Facebook is not caring for the baby.

The whole attention seeking thing is out of hand. A co-worker has just spent the last 3-4 weeks at work planning her son's first birthday party. It's all she has talked about and each time I have walked up to her desk she has been online party planning for her "circus" birthday party complete with live animals, etc. She was talking about the thousands of dollars she has spent and how she has to keep up with what the other mothers have done recently for their kid's birthday. It's all about the parent egos and nothing to do with the kid. Does anyone here remember your first birthday party?

You are really putting in fine work for your cause here. No idea you felt so strongly about a woman's right to reveal the gender of her fetus. Luckily, if she doesn't get enough likes on the pictures she posts, she can always late-term abort it and try again.

Yea, celebrating the first birthday of your child is a fricking travesty. Why bother loving the baby for the first year, it's not like it will remember.

I promised myself I wouldn't get caught up in this thread when I saw it this morning, but I'm a degenerate for a good gender reveal/couples shower/engagement party OT thread.

You can always tell who is actually getting laid and/or has even decent friends based on these threads. If you're pro/indifferent towards gender reveal parties, you're probably getting laid and you probably have quality friends who do it right.

If you're anti-gender reveal parties then you probably look like this guy:
and/or have awful friends.

Regardless, I love the comments from people that hate them yet continuously attend them. Stop fricking going if it is so terrible.

And I generally to enjoy finding out the sex of the baby. It is an exciting time in a friend/family members life. I enjoy sharing that.
