It can be incredibly frustrating at times (currently rocking my 3wk old bc the little fricker wakes up every time I put him down), but this stage does pass (I'm on #3 and they've all been this way)

Feels like an eternity when you’re in the middle of it.

My son is 7.5 months now and rolls over both ways but prefers to sleep on his stomach. One night a few months back when he was still learning to roll I came into the bedroom and looked into his crib and was sleep with his face literally facedown into the mattress; like he was planking. Scared the crap out of me and I quickly rolled him to his back. I’m not sure how long he was like that but he had a pacifier in his mouth still so maybe that helped.

They aren’t the best at protecting themselves so use your own judgement but I always think about what would have happened if I didn’t happen to check on him when I did.

Another thing that reduces risk of SIDS and actually helps them stay asleep

My wife’s oldest sibling, a sister, passed of SIDS when she was 3 months old close to 40 years ago. So we know there are risks. Plus I’m not much of a risk taker lol.

If she can pick up her head, she should be fine. You will worry anyway.

ETA: you will never NOT worry again, but it's the best ride of your life.

the impressive part is that he managed to have 4 kids even while enjoying to put penis in his mouth to reduce swelling

Sleeping on the belly is fine as long as you don't have pillows or stuffed animals in the crib. I slept on my stomach and still end up on my stomach every morning.

just be patient. you’re almost there at 2.5 months. and as a few other posters have mentioned, once they can roll from their belly to their back and vice versa, you’re golden.

no pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, etc until they are 1 years old. no exceptions

Just let her sleep on her stomach.

Our baby wouldn’t sleep more than an hour - my granny was agast that we were making her sleep in her back. She said put that baby on her tummy - we did, and watched, and she did.
That baby is now 20 years old. I wish her sleeping position was my max concern:

Our twins slept in a mama-roo until they were too big to fit. It was like a miracle tool from God.

Went through this with both ( 2.5 y/o boy and 9 month old boy). We used the Owlet for peace of mind.

Mine wouldn’t sleep on his back do we tried on his side and it was a monumental discovery. We had one of those anti roll pillows/cushions we would put him in and reinforce with blankets under the sides of it to keep him from rolling.

Just be careful with the covers/blankets. Also ensure that the surface they are on is not too plush and is breathable

Get a sleep sack you zip em up in

No bumpers on the bed either.

Anything within 3 or 4 inches of the mouth at that age can interrupt the air flow as their diaphragms are not strong enough to compensate.

My 6 month old started sleeping on his tummy when he learned to roll over. We put him in his crib and he immediately rolls over and goes to sleep. Once they can roll over by themselves it’s ok.
