Babies sleeping on their tummy

I’m a new dad of a 2 1/2 month old beautiful baby girl. She is my pride and joy. But I wish I could explain to her that the baby experts say she needs to sleep on her back. Baby girl sleeps like a rock on her tummy, roll her on her back and that’s over with lol. If only it were the “good ole days”.

I have a dog. She sleeps on her tummy. Hope that helps.

Just let her sleep on her stomach. All of mine did and they're all fine. That was a battle with my wife because she wanted to do everything the doc said by the book and it got to the point where either you let her sleep on her stomach so you can also get some sleep, or no one freaking sleeps.

My oldest is 20 and youngest is 13 with two more between em.
They all four slept on their stomachs or however they felt like sleeping.
If worried, get one of them pads that will alert you if anything is wrong.

I think the rule is if they can roll over by themselves let it ride
I am also not a doctor so don’t listen to me

Just be careful with the covers/blankets. Also ensure that the surface they are on is not too plush and is breathable.

Well yeah. You don't have much choice at that point.

It kept me awake some too, Dad. You'll be OK. Just keep an eye open. Congrats as well.

Congratulations on the most wonderful addition to your family! I’m very happy for you, and I look forward to you having many sleepless nights from now on.
Some babies want to sleep on the tummy and some want to sleep on the back. Just make sure you do your best to keep their bedding safe and there aren’t any places they can get trapped. especially anywhere they might put their face that might get their air restricted like putting their face in a pillow or in a blanket fold. Try to keep the pillows out of the crib and be aware of your position if you cuddle them to sleep so that if… WHEN.. you fall asleep holding them they won’t roll out of your arms on to the floor or into the space between you and the couch cushion.
Other than that enjoy the best time of your life bro! That little girl is gonna have you wrapped up in no time. The first time she comes running at you yelling “daddy!!!!” When you get home will make all the sleepless nights worth it.

Sleeping on your stomach is a good way to wake up with a finger in your beehole

Just went through this.
Place her on her back every time you put her to sleep. If she rolls onto her stomachs it’s fine. Babies will sleep in whatever position is most comfortable for them.
Every time I went in to check on them I’d find babies on stomachs and butts in the air.

This is about a guy at home with his newborn in a cradle. Not Orleans Parish general population, baw.

Your next post will probably be bitching about car insurance increase when she starts driving.

Our daughter just turned two months. She sleeps on her back often but will still wake up the normal 2-3 hours at a time.
Parents and friends of mine all say sleeping on stomach is fine if they can already start to roll and lift their head. I believe it was considered a bad idea to keep them on their backs years ago because of the thought that they could spit up and choke on it? Who knows what parenting guides will say 10 years from now.
Just make sure there is nothing in your child's way that would prevent them from breathing properly if they're face down.

Daughter dad here myself. She’s two now.
SIDS is a real thing.
Swaddle them tight to where they have to sleep on their back. No blankets no pillows in crib. She can fuss all she wants but sooner or later she’ll learn to sleep on her back. When she can roll over by herself during the day, you can stop swaddling. Still place on back in crib. The reason for this is because babies can’t defend themselves if their mouth is blocked from breathing, albeit from the mattress or a blanket. Once they develop enough, they can change positions involuntarily if their mouth/air is cut off.

Sleeping on their backs decreases the risks of SIDS.

This
It can be incredibly frustrating at times (currently rocking my 3wk old bc the little fricker wakes up every time I put him down), but this stage does pass (I'm on #3 and they've all been this way)
SIDS is horrific and you'll never forgive yourself if you don't do everything you can to prevent it
