A couple of weeks ago some Yemeni fishermen found $1.5 million worth of ambergris in a dead whale off their coast.

BBC (heh, heh) Link

Maybe someone in NOLA was prospecting?

From the comments

I've given it some thought, and if I was driving around the port area in a truck filled with whale intestines, and whale intestines fell out the truck on to the road, I would probably not go back to pick up the whale intestines

I would have to imagine it fell out or off a truck heading to the port which is right around the block.....

But what is it and why are whale intestines heading to the port of NOLA?

There is likely an Asian whale poaching syndicate in NOLA

The Audubon zoo on the news showed up and said it was a cow. Makes way more sense

Would it be heading to the zoo as food for gators?

I've heard of Irish Channel from this board but I don't know what it is (neighborhood?)

Then to open it up and read about the issue being whale intestines?
