I think they are all being left alone. Closing down the Perkins on-ramp to make room for the new lanes though.

Lol. They don’t need to widen anything. They just need to fix that 90 degree turn in the middle of I-10 downtown.

Checked the LA DOTD website and couldn't find any info, but isn't there a project planned to replace the Hwy 1 bridges over the Intracoastal Waterway? Heard a few years ago that this project would kick off in 2020, but here we are and no new bridges.

So add that to the mix as well. Glad I'm retired.

I might not be living at all by the time it's finished.

Aw man, that's the only on-ramp I use. Not that I use it often.

Guess I'll continue my scenic route to work over the overpass and down Park.

I may over looked it but does it mention widening the bridge? None of this will a thing if the bridge isn’t widened

Dumb af, why add on to that area and do nothing else? Build a loop or bypass and this is all fixed, why even waste money on something that will likely be insufficient by the time it is finished. I for one like the double roundabouts on Washington street, totally necessary.

Edit: Bakerman you are correct, the bridge and split are the real issues but the bridge is the basis for the entire problem because there is nowhere to cross except there or Scotlandville. It's pass through traffic that is really pushing congestion over the top I would assume.

Hire the contractor the contractor that did that huge I12 widening project years ago and get it done.

They'll be expanding the highway to 4 lanes in both directions with sound walls on either side.

Great, more concrete and metal to collect dirt, grime, mold, and mildew, rust and decay in the BRoken

If it was designed for 80,000 and now has 160,000, is adding one lane in each direction enough?

A bypass loop and another bridge seems like it would be a more effective long term solution.

What are we doing with these roundabouts? SELA needs to quit swagjacking Alexandria

DOTD had said the current plan and a new bridge are long term solutions. One improvement can’t fix the mess we have.

No new bridge or widening of current bridge - it’s worthless

I would hope they at least add an HOV lane.

But you are right. Baton Rouge needs a better I-10 AND it needs a new bridge in the Plaquemine/Brusly area. It also needs a dozen smaller secondary routes to be updated/created for system redundancy and resilience (alternate routes).

Here are a few I can think of that are exclusive of a much needed investment into Livingston and Ascension roads and bridges:

- new bridges over the Amite and Hooper Road and Jones Creek (routes to northern and southern Livingston)
- widened and improved Nicholson all the way into Gonzales (route to industrial and residential areas in AP)
- widened Choctaw/Greenwell Springs with timed signals during rush hour. (route to Central and Watson)
- widened and improved Airline Highway with overpasses over the rail crossings (route to West Baton Rouge and Ascension)

Improvements to the old bridge would need to be made first. I don't think it is rated for that volume of traffic

This is true, but I would think before wasting money on widening the only road available (causing catastrophic congestion to already insanely congested roadways) why not work on the alternative route in the meantime and when that is done and less people are on i10 between the bridge and split, you close some lanes and begin work.
