I’m 56 years old and am driving the 3rd vehicle I’ve ever owned as the primary driver. Bought a used Mazda GLC in high school and drove it until it wasn’t worth replacing the clutch. Bought a new base Nissan pickup in college for $9k and put 350k miles on it and sold it to a Mexican at a yard sale for $2k. Bought my current Toyota Tundra new in 2007 for $32k and unless something crazy happens, I’ll die with it. Always paid cash and drove them until the repair cost was more than the car value. I included the qualification “as the primary driver” because I’ve owned other vehicles that my wife and kids drive.

I’m 44 and I’m on my 11th in my life. Wife is on 6th since we have been together. We are on 12 together.

Wrong. In order to pay interest, there must be a loan. I pay cash or wait until I can pay cash. No credit cards, no car loans.

I get where you are going but a note is a loan. I said "everybody pays interest on a car note". Not everybody pays interest on a car.

I don't know - I just bought a Kia Forte GT a couple of years ago and paid it off. Title is sitting in my safe.

Being in debt sucks, and I am not falling for that trap again.

I used to work at a local credit union (Essential)…

These dumb SOB’s would give 125% of LTV, plus taxes, for brand new RVs , to some 22 yo bc he had a credit score in the 700’s….. with only one credit card and deferred student loans..

Then be surprised when they quit paying and wanted to hand in the keys.

You'd be shocked at what those people are paying for altimas or chargers.

Buy Here, Pay Here. Weekly Payments.

Used card dealers probably sell more cars in January than any other month.

Probably not. No car note for me and my wife (no pics) drives an 11 year old 4Runner that’s been paid off for a long time. Im just not in here bragging about it like everyone else.

Well until now.

Just bought a F150 LARIAT, Handing down my 7 year old RDX to the kid. Highest car note i’ve had by about $400. I drove 45 mins to get the best deal I could. As an example of car prices the 2019 RDX was $47K a new one and the same trim level is $57K. Its is what it is I suppose. I even debated waiting to buy but they aren’t gonna get any cheaper,

No car note.

No house note.

No notes of any kind.

Life is good.

I still find other shite to worry about tho.
