Go Auto announces insurance rate reduction for Louisiana drivers

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Drivers in Louisiana insured by Go Auto will see a reduction on the bottom line of their bills, Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon announced Tuesday.
Donelon approved a 3.6% rate reduction for the Louisiana insurance provider.
Over 74,000 drivers in Louisiana are insured by Go Auto.
This reduction comes after State Farm, Progressive, and Louisiana Farm Bureau announced reductions this year.
More: State Farm has cut insurance rates again for Louisiana drivers
Together, the reductions will impact nearly 1.5 million policyholders in the state.

I don’t know, but I do know that their commercials are painful to watch.

Come on bro.... none of that changes the fact that this area and state are the highest in the country by far.
Are you trying to get your boy re-elected? I’d bet those decreases were in caddo or Caldwell parish and that there were increases for some in the BR areas.

So nearly 5% rates decreases are a bad thing? I suppose you'd be happier if they kept going up.

Come on man.

Didn't realize they had 1. 5 million residents of those two parishes.

It could just be that the price reduction came after your 6 month, or however long, premium was set. Just had mine renewed and noticed a significant drop. Might want to wait and see what your premium will be.

Imagine that, more favorable news for the incumbent dropping one week before the election

Insurance rates dropping is a myth.

Just don't be one of those jackasses that calls in and says "I've been with State Farm for decades and I'm leaving unless you lower my rates!"
The agents literally can't change your rates without making some sort of decrease in your coverage

But they can examine the policies and find they weren’t giving you credit for car alarms, etched glass or where they mistakenly had a 17 year old as the primary driver of your jag rather than the 12 year old truck.

Plus monitored home alarm discounts or reductions for wind ratings on your construction.

Despite personal rate cuts, Louisiana commercial auto rates ‘continue to go up’
quote:

While the series of cuts come as welcomed news to Louisiana drivers, notoriously plagued by high auto premiums, insurance experts are quick to note this doesn’t change the fact that the state’s rates still rank among the highest in the nation.

quote:

The rate cuts, first of all, are only for the personal lines market, says Jeff Albright, CEO of Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Louisiana. In the state’s commercial market, auto rates have not only not gone down, they’ve risen.

quote:

“The problem is much worse in the commercial lines market,” Albright says. “Rates continue to go up. We’re literally driving business out of the state because of the extremely high costs of commercial insurance.”
