Any of you have experience with some dashboard attachment or app on your phone that tracks your driving speed, etc.?? Any way to cheat the system such as turning your phone off when driving so big brother isn't constantly looking over your shoulder?

If you got the vaccine just show them your serial numbers and they can track everything from there.

Be prepared to watch your rates go up if you ever want or have to drive after 9pm.

Those things are complete bullshite. They say they can help you save money for your safe driving habits, but all they do is penalize you for some arbitrary BS the insurance company sets. Tell them to frick off.

I did this because it was a nice discount and insurance on a truck as a young adult is ridiculous

I won’t do it again.

It came with a discount for my insurance. I just never did set it up, and my rates went up a few bucks. They are still in the box in a junk drawer.

Self driving cars in 15 years. Enjoy driving now, you’ll be the last generation where leaning to drive is a priority.

My insurance would drop me if I ever let them track me.

Previous O&G company got talked into installing tracking devices into all company vehicles so they could "reduce rates" but the dumbasses never read the fine print that they could also increase rates if unsafe driving habits were detected. Do you know how much driving takes place between the hours of 10 PM and 5 AM for a service company? Rates skyrocketed and they ended up having to change insurance companies and paid more for what they originally had.

Tell State Farm to EAD! Or, just say no and pay the additional couple bucks a month.

Never get the phone app, it tracks every time your on your phone and driving.

Get the plug in if you have too. Or shop around.

Nah. I'm good. They raise rates enough, I don't need to give them another reason.

I'm in the insurance business, and this is my opinion:

Carriers don't make you get the device... Supposedly, if you have good driving habits, you don't drive as frequently, you stop slowly, etc... They will lower your premiums because you are less risky.

That being said, I'm a safe but aggressive driver. No way I'd put that in my car, even though I haven't had an at-fault accident in 10 years.

Wife and I used the plug in dongle from progressive and it save us a good chunk on our policy. It would beep under hard braking and by the amount of beeps we racked up we figured we were in for a big increase but it actually knocked our rates down.

I have the State Farm drive safe. Comes with a Bluetooth beacon you keep in your vehicle that scores you on your driving.

I’m getting $188.00 discount on my next bill.

My agent tried to offer me one saying that it could lead to lower rates depending on my driving habits. I told him "no thanks, sometimes when there is minimal traffic on the interstate I like to push the needle past 100mph." He's a very uptight dude and his response looked like he was going to swallow his tongue.

I already have enough things tracking my every move. A few bucks off my car insurance premiums wasn't enough to add another to the list.
