. The EBR COA CEO must be an incredibly powerful and/or connected person to garner this much support from across the spectrum of her political base. It's amazing that a decision can't be made to cut bait and retrench. Especially with the power structure in the City Parish skewed towards that same political base.

the 2 COA persons involved with the will both have mothers who are judges (aka, big political machines in EBR)

so yeah, they're connected

quote:

The Mayor and the Board could easily find a replacement whose like-minded and would continue to operate in a manner congruent to their own goals and desires it seems.

that is admitting defeat and mismanagement

they can't give an inch or risk losing everything. go back a few pages and see my reasonable proposal (EBR city-parish council members each get to select a board member and force the COA to expand ids board to accomodate the new members). even that would never fly because it would create accountability and monitoring

the whole reason an entity like the COA is such a great place for all this corruption and public money is that it's not actually a public entity. it's a private entity that receives public funds. the oversight, reporting, and regulations are much less stringent. they chose the COA a long time ago on purpose

So Judge Smith both granted and dissolved the TRO? Am I reading that correctly?

yeah well granting the first part of a TRO has almost no real burden, so he granted that part. then he dissolved it at the first hearing (for jurisdictional issues)

Gotcha. Wasn't sure how that worked. Seemed odd to the untrained eye.

that's why the hearing was so immediate, because of the potential issues with the lower initial burden

and come back with no punishment and continue doing what she is doing?

Do these elected judges have any person or board they have to answer to?

you file a motion to recuse the judge and another judge hears it. even if somehow that judge would not grant it, i will guarantee you it would be granted on appeal

yes, teh judicial ethics commission

LINK

quote:

On recommendation of the Judiciary Commission, the Supreme Court may censure, suspend with or without salary, remove from office, or involuntarily retire a judge for willful misconduct relating to his official duty, willful and persistent failure to perform his duty, persistent and public conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice that brings the judicial office into disrepute, and conduct while in office which would constitute a felony, or conviction of a felony.

On recommendation of the Judiciary Commission, the Supreme Court may disqualify a judge from exercising any judicial function, without loss of salary, during pendency of disciplinary proceedings in the Supreme Court.

On recommendation of the Judiciary Commission, the Supreme Court may retire involuntarily a judge for disability that seriously interferes with the performance of his duties and that is or is likely to become permanent.

The Commissions' jurisdiction includes justices and judges of all courts of this state, including commissioners, magistrates, justices of the peace, and mayors who perform judicial functions.

Delgado smells FGC's desperation.

The planned protests last week were a flop. FGC's fame is fading quickly and everything he's stood in support of in the recent past is being proved lies (Judge Erwin, CoA, etc). Gary is getting desperate for local and national headlines with this Metro Council "stand-in".

I tried to watch his video last night, but he just sat there breathing for the first minute and a half of an 8 minute long video. They he said, "okay" a bunch of times like he was doing a bunch of different takes of the video because he messed up the word "okay"
