In 2011, Dytasha Amar also known as Tasha Clark-Amar had her house foreclosed on in September 2011 for failure to pay house mortgage on a timely basis. She owed $172,926.54 at 4.875 % interest rate. This loan originated in September 2010. In her own words (taken from The Rouge Collection, "The individual who served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board at the time, accompanied me to the bank with the intentions to request financial assistance on behalf of the agency to meet the looming payroll that we were facing only to discover we had defaulted on a prior loan that would have to be resolved first." Coming to light, is it really any surprise that this woman is unable to manage and direct the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging (EBRCOA) finances when she can't even manage on a much smaller scale her own finances? And how was she able to utilize her families (implying that it is either her and her spouse or someone else associated with her family) $50K line of credit to ensure payroll was met? Certainly no lending institution would be tricked again into lending her money, unlike the voters of East Baton Rouge Parish.

Do a small deposit guaranteed loan the second your bankruptcy goes through. Refinance it in 6-8 months for a larger amount. Do that a few times to reestablish credit, you can be back to full strength in under three years.

This is true but I don't think that she is smart enough and too damn lazy looking out for free handouts in life to do this.

ignorance of the law is not a defense. if that's the best the COA attorney can come up with they are f'ed. If that worked, no one would ever go to jail.

Entitlement attitude at it's finest.

I'm sure most of it stems from the life she's lived under her Judge Mother.

Not sure about entitlement or not but it certainly looks like she took out a loan with no intention of paying it off.

Unless you are Hillary Clinton. Then it just matters if you had "intent" to commit the crime or not

shite like this is why every issue on the ballot, no matter how harmless-sounding, needs to be scrutinized under a very public microscope.

The Council on Aging sounded like the most feel-good thing on the ballot in November. It turns out it's probably the most criminal enterprise in the parish.

Just vote no until they prove they have their priorities straight. No to COA. No to CATS. No to BREC. No to the school board. You can never go wrong at the booth with fricking "NO."

The NBR reinvestment program is going to be the biggest criminal enterprise in EBRP in decades

I think you are underestimating the 19th JDC with regards to criminal enterprises in EBR.

Man, they even used public funds to campaign for the raise. Blows my fricking mind.
Nobody would have known they existed until they used Baton Rouge taxpayer money to advertise before the campaign.

Are the taxpayers on the hook for footing this bill?

Murphy Fosters firm (BSW) is pretty expensive. With all the attorneys on the board it is shocking they require such expensive attorneys.

And of course taxpayers are paying for these high priced attorneys. Where else would the money come from? Little old ladies' estates?
