a simple google search could have worked

Sure, but that move seems to me like that state senator (who is no longer affiliated with EBRCoA) saw the shite rapidly flying towards the fan on this matter. If you ask the state AG's opinion on the matter in an official manner, then you're on record that you were concerned about possible impropriety and have a nice CYA umbrella once the fan starts redistributing the shite.

Idk man. I think it's gonna get bad for these folks and rightfully so. fricking over seniors is a whole new ballgame, and I don't see the pressure letting up until all the skeletons are out of the closet. It's gotten too big, and they're too arrogant for the whole house of Cards not to tumble.

Trust me, the FEMA shite is the only thing they'll be able to exploit.

Can TCA be a part of the PAC just as long as she's not on COA time?

i believe that is correct

the PAC can certainly only use its own resources, so anything done on COA time or using COA resources is illegal

i doubt that will be enough for criminal convictions, but the FEMA/fed stuff may bring the house down

also, the COA should clearly lose its non-profit status

Yeah, I think the improprieties of passing the retroactive policy amendments absolutely violates policy. Not sure if the feds would pursue anything on that.

yes if she did work the hours and got fed money for it, it's probably not going to be a big of enough issue (with the feds, at least), although i can see the argument that if OT wasn't allowed, how in the hell can they bill OT? if they're salaried, how can they bill OT?

the problem will be if this batch of tomfoolery and malarkey makes some federal investigators go "wait...what?" and investigate further

working that kind of a load will leave a huge electronic trail. emails, phone records, text records, etc will be able to show if she was really working or not. if she can show she was working, then even with all the other questions i doubt she gets prosecuted by the feds

I've been saying that, if nothing else, this admin and their cronies are going to attract the attention of some federal sting operations. Retroactively amending policy should be grounds for termination for all involved.

i mean the allegations against Doug Welborn don't even work anymore, really

they went for the potential trifecta of mismanagement...mismanagement and wasting of their funds, using inappropriate funds/resources for political campaigns, AND possible fraudulent federal invoicing. when you throw in the bingo disaster you have to ask what they've done correctly

I would say "spell their names correctly" but I think that is giving them too much credit.

the EBR Clerk of Court

i'm not sure exactly what issues Gravy and his merry men have with him, but it involves alleged misappropriation of public money

he's THE example they all point to when discussing the COA issues, with the "everyone is doing it" argument

Don't remember exactly but I think there were questions about him using office funds to pay for employees' lunches.

As opposed to using his office to defraud old people.

She used CoA money to campaign for and fund the PAC. She and the CFO ran the PAC. They evaded taxes by using the CoA's mailing address to mail out flyers for the PAC

Is this true? Could this be construed as using public resources for campaign purposes (using the building address)?
