not making it up. Never experienced a door to door salesman asking for respect after I told him no 2x already.
You should have told him respect is a 2 way street and he disrespect you the second he didn't respect your property as being private.
He would have loved me because I ask them straight up if they completed 5th grade and can read with comprehension. My community is gated with several No Solicitation signs at the gate they obviously tailgate in.

I would've said "lets call the AT&T support line and see how good the support is. If it's good I may buy the product".

The 3rd party guys are 100% commissions
The corporate employees have a 70-80k base plus commission so they aren’t as pushy. They have lead lists so they know everything you have anyways

wife signed us up for a new gym , not sure why, nothing was wrong with the current one, and I was registering yesterday, the girl that was entering me into their computer system was trying to push private trainer sessions on me because of grand opening special rates, I told her three times that I wasn't interested but she could asked my wife when she came in, I let her keep giving her spiel though, because of, boobs

I dont want that dude coming back. Id rather not see him ever again.
Instead of telling him how I really felt, making him see the error of his ways, make him feel stupid.
I just no.

My dogs handle the rare solicitor. They turn and leave quickly after knocking. I don’t open the door.

Had an aunt get stabbed multiple times and obviously almost died by answering her front door.
I never open the front door. Always talk through it.

I had someone knock at 8:50pm last week. In hindsight, I regret how I reacted to the kid but why the frick does someone think that’s ok

My worst customer experiences ever were with ATT/Bellsouth. And it wasn't just once.
They never get the benefit of the doubt from me again.
Edit to add: my experience was similar to yours. Rebates offered and never honored. Monthly service charges didn't match the signed contracts.

After 2x of telling him I was not interested, he asked for some respect to let him talk and he needed to cool off because it was hot, from walking door to door soliciating the neighboorhood.
Would have closed the door in his face at that point. You earn respect you don’t demand it.

I'll never buy anything from someone that shows up at my door.

Maybe you're one of those people who isn't cut out to make someone feel stupid and that's fine. Next time, just don't answer the door and avoid all of this drama.
