If I were a cop, I'd be perfectly "ok" with that.

Isn’t Atlanta already pretty segregated

It has gentrified greatly the last 20 years.

But it still has its pockets of segregated neighborhoods, on both sides.

FWIW, black folks don't trust black cops, either.

The better way to put this is that black people don't like cops interrupting their crime sprees.

Georgia has over 160 counties and most are smaller than counties in other states.

During the Depression, Milton county and Campbell county faced bankruptcy. To avoid that, they merged with Fulton county. Milton was to the north (Alpharetta) and Campbell was south of Fulton (Union City, Fairburn, Campbellton.)

So that's how Fulton got it's strange shape. There was talk about Milton pulling away from Fulton, but that has died down.

Helped that all of North Fulton incorporated. Ironically enough, that area is getting more blue (Johns Creek is basically half Asian).

Unfortunately that’s the problem with that “culture”

No respect for authority

Most people would expect to be respected if they are respectful. Cops expect citizens to be respectful no matter how the cop is behaving and they have the backing of the state to enforce that respect. Why that is an acceptable situation to so many people who supposedly value freedom and smaller government will forever be a mystery....

The politicians are succeeding.

We are fighting amongst ourselves while they abscond with our wages.

We are so easily distracted.

There is a Baton Rouge / St. George situation going on right now. Buckhead, with some of the richest zip codes in the country, has been trying to form its own city. The city of Atlanta is fighting like hell to keep that from happening.

SO is the state of Georgia and almost ALL business interests in the state and city. The effort to prevent the incorporation of Buckhead has always been fairly bi-partisan. A good bit of the opposition stems from rhetoric which has been used over the years by the incorporation crowd..the movement has been alive and well for at least 50 years and at times supporters have made it abundantly clear what their actual agenda was...and it is not all about taxes and spending but is, at least in part, about race. It has only been taken up a few times by the state legislature but it has been an issue in Atlanta since the early 1970s and, again, the supporters have not always held their thoughts as to why they supported the effort....

Jesus Christ in a handbasket. And some of y'all have the temerity to pretend as if there is no racism in the US outside of that being perpertrated against white folks by black folks. The truth ain't in any of you....
