When I graduated college. I regret getting off of my parents' cell phone plan. I could save a couple hundred/year if I were still on theirs and just gave them cash for it.

I didn’t pay for all of my insurance, but I paid for most of it through high school. Got a break in college because I had a scholarship, but I picked it back up after graduation. Wife had 2-3 wrecks early, and her mother was stil toting her insurance bill and she had a car

Son got his license in September. I gave him October for free, but that bill’s due in November, and he currently has $1.47 in his checking acct. I told him I was taking the keys if he couldn’t pay the bill. It’s only $60/month right now, so it wouldn’t be a problem if he didn’t stop spending money on dumb shite.

The full bill was something like $450/6 months for his part. 3 drivers, 2 cars. I don’t mind paying for part of it, and switching from USAA to Progressive saved us over 50% ($2200 to about $1000), so he saved some and we saved some.

heh! the first 2 cars I had were back before the insurance laws. Didn't need no insurance.

Bought my first new car at 18 and had to have insurance. Had to pay for it myself.
