46-48. Haven't had them fixed yet. I have 6 months of sick time saved up, so I'll probably get my shoulder fixed, burn the sick time, then retire.

Aside from the two years when I had 19 surgeries, I haven’t really started feeling aches and pains anywhere. I’m 64 with a 45 year old body…

I am late 40s and haven't had to deal with aches and pains yet, but I did destroy my shoulder doing something basic a couple years ago, requiring a lot of cleanup, cutting, and titanium. I have to work it all the time now to keep it loose.

I no longer pretend that I am 25. Instead of carrying 4 bags of mulch, I'll carry 2. Instead of of trying to unload a load of lumber in as few trips as possible, I'll focus less on the number of trips.

Starts around 40 for most people

By 50, its all the time

As you get older, recovery takes longer

Its all normal and part of the process

early - mid 30s I noticed I wasn't "bouncing back" as fast as I did when I was younger.

late 30's I noticed old shite just hurts almost all the time in some capacity (from minor discomfort or aches to sometimes real pain).

early 40s I had major shoulder surgery.

is it better than it was pre-surgery? absolutely
is it "fixed" as in back to being what a normal shoulder should be? hell no

That’s decent if you’re getting 10 reps. What gym do you go to with 43s?

I’m 43. fricked it up grabbing the 55’s. Basically finished set and put them down beside me then reached down and grabbed one seated then tried to grab the other and felt a sharp pain. My stupid arse finished my workout and now I can hardly walk today

I’m just trying to stay in shape and above average for strength in a 40’s male.

which is why professional athletes all begin declining rather than peaking around those ages?

I'm just now filing for VA Disability at 43 and been having back issues since 37. So i say late 30s right before I retired from the Service.

i served with a lot of people like that....they all retired...ballooned up to 300+ lbs and then it was the service fricked up my back and knees

I fricked up my lower back yesterday grabbing dumbbells for shoulder presses

I was lifting a toilet last year and inhaled as I lifted... immediately felt like someone stabbed me in the side of my lower back. I was in pain for about a week.

the amount of fat men on the OT really is pathetic.

they all claim to exercise but consider pulling weeds from the garden exercise.

how the hell are so many on here broken down before 60? hell even 50?

like wtf did yall do for a living?

what really pathetic is the amount of guys who worked in an office and claim their body is wrecked.......only wrecked becaseu they are fat AF.

Or maybe we don't all work in cubicles. Military, diesel mechanic, working in plants... some of us put more miles on our bodies at a younger age.

You're an idiot. People use their bodies in different ways. I had done lasting damage to my body before I turned 30. We dont all sit around in air conditioning doing paperwork our entire lives.

i was in the military and work in a plant....i am an engineer but not many in the plants outside of contractors killing themselves

but let me ask you a question....Assuming you have beat your body to shite and you are in your late 30/early 40s like so many in this thread.....then why does the OT as a whole scream about going in to the trades and how great they are?

cant have it both ways...either going in to the trades is the end all be all or if this thread is any indication, they wreck your body

which is it?

Until proven otherwise, there ain’t a single poster on this site that do enough with their bodies that they irreparable damage. Including being a mechanic or being in the military, etc.

You just aren’t taking care of yourself
