Four point isn't nice and there are a couple that need to be torn down but GC has whole sections that need to be demolished.

They lived in Chauvin. It was a damn shame he went in a bad direction. Through grade school and early high school he was always an intelligent guy and a good friend. Then when he left Vandebilt we fell out of touch.
On another note, T-Irvs was my usual jump off point to get to my spring marsh spots down Bayou Grand Calliou. Used to slay some fish in what we called Bayou Fullawater…. Which was actually Bayou Lewis. I’m sure it’s all drastically different since I last was down there… 2002ish.

100% an old Morgan City picture. Between the shrimp and the oil, a whole lot of money passed thru that town.

My grandma went to school in Dularge, she was actually born in a trappers she'd in the marsh. Her mom died when she was in the 3rd or 4th grade and she had to quit school to take care of her family while her dad was out trapping and fishing.
My grandpa went to Boudreaux Canal School and actually graduated from Terrebonne High. In those times (he would be 98) men from the bayous seldomly graduated because of how far they had to travel to get to school.
My dad went to Boudreaux Canal, Lacache and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Chauvin. Tuition when he graduated was like $86 a year.

Wasn’t that in Donner?
Also in Gibson, you had large shipbuilding manufacturing areas. Now most of that area is a ghost town. Up until the 1990’s, I think Avondale had a shipyard in Gibson.
There is also a 3 hole golf course out there.
