At least 28 people were shot, six fatally, across Chicago over the weekend, including a teen who was shot to death in the city's Englewood neighborhood.

Shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday, Austin Rogers, 15, was standing in the street in the 2300 block of West 68th Street when he was struck by gunfire in the back, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at Comer Children’s Hospital, authorities said.

NBC

Chiraq has a lower murder rate than New Orleans BTW.

Yeah that's a weird title:

At Least 28 People Shot in Weekend Shootings Across Chicago

Where would NBC be today if the OT couldn't correct their formatting errors?

At least it’s only a 28/6 kill rate.

ETA- on second thought 28/28 may be better, they got to learn how to shoot.

I wonder if they have something comparable to section 8 for burial.

They do. Which only means that the burial prices have jumped to take into account how much the families receive from the government.

Unbelievable how violent some of these cardiac surgeons can get over their speaking engagement time slots.

Kinda both sad and amazing that my first thought when reading that headline was “that’s not bad”

The CPD is now tweeting out stats each week about how many of of the illegal firearm arrests are quickly let out on parole by the prosecutors and judges who don’t seem to be interested in actually holding people accountable.

But guns are almost impossible for honest citizens to own in Chicago.

Only because Chicago is allowed to add in many of the counties in Chicago suburbs. Thus those suburbs save their numbers.

St.Louis is only 1 of 3 cities not part of a County, if they were part of St.Louis County, they would become 8th largest city, and drop into the 25-30 spot in crimes per capita. And they wouldn't include East St.Louis,Brooklyn, etc into their numbers anymore. Those cities are in Illinois for fricks sake.

LOL, the answer to all the crime infested areas in the 80's and 90's. Every city opened up 24 hour hoops places. LOL
