Bitcoin is not real. Gold is real. Silver is real

Greater than three digits but fewer than four.
1. So somewhere between $960k and $9.6mil.
2. What would be the harm in saying the actual number?

Agreed. It of course has it's inherent value as a cryptocurrency, but what I'm looking forward to is all the other uses for the blockchain. I think ETH will be the better long-term investment for that reason.

How real is gold really? What you going to do with gold bar when you are starving to death. I'm certainly not giving up my canned peas for some gold shavings.

I feel like I’m having the retail vs online shopping arguement all over again.

As with any technology that disrupts the everyday norms, there is strong pushback at first

Online retail still provided you with something tangible

it makes people uncomfortable to accept something that isnt status quo becoming mainstream.
so they use scare tactics like "its dangerous" or "its not real" or "there is nothing tangible" to not only feel better about not understanding it themselves but to also force others to avoid doing so as well

Bitcoin can provide you with lots of things that are tangible.
Like Bitcoin, there is no physical store. Yet it is about to make shopping malls a thing of the past.

More real than Bitcoin. A lot more.

Gold is only valuable because women are vain.

Amazon is fighting to set up stores and you are saying the future is killing retail shopping?

I'm way too stupid to understand bitcoin/cryptcurrencies, BUT...
it strikes me as very strange that a lot of people who rail against the Fed/its digital printing press and used to be in the hard assets goldbug alt economic camp have moved on to something even more...abstract/intangible.
I suppose there will come a point, perhaps when granny boomer dies off, that crypto becomes widely accepted. Until then, it just seems like an investment to me, not something that will be used daily. Also, big banking isn't going down without a fight.

Yes. When one store kills 50, that is the end of a retail era. Stay tuned.
