The thing I see on social media are people claiming to be “bi” even though they’ve never been in a relationship with someone of the same sex.

These wheels were turning long before anyone born in the 1970s or 1980s became a parent. I'd point at people like Benjamin Spock and John Dewey, but even then I'm not sure I've really identified the root cause. You could certainly point at the Roosevelt / Clinton / Johnson collectivist vision. Hell, Karl Marx realized he'd need to deconstruct the family to accomplish what he wanted.
Besides that, a lot of these kids' parents are Millenials anyway. Millenials range in age from about 30 to 40 right now. They're the parents now.
