Depends which part of the parish. Watson, DS, a lot of walker neighborhoods are MUCH more classier than several areas of Ascension Parish. I'm part of the original white flight & left Central to build in Watson. Now Albany & Holden are without a doubt the trashy areas that misrepresent others in LP. A couple bad towns have stereotyped the entire parish.

Baton Rouge, and to a lesser extent AP, not having much of a Cajun or a Redneck accent is the exception to the rule.
I've been out of Louisiana for almost 20 years. I come back to visit family once a year or so.

Trust me, you all have accents.

Mine comes back out within a half day or so when visiting

I second this comment.

I’ve never seen so many cross eyed, red headed , Pentecostals.

I live in Ascension Parish. I have always thought it was classier than Livingston. But today driving home, I just saw a man riding a mountain bike towing a wheelchair.

I’ll one up you. I cut through from Central to Walker via Lockhart Rd. There’s an obese female who rides her motorized wheelchair in the road on that route.

Livingston is more than twice the size of Ascension and has a more varied "culture". Denham, Watson, and Walker are very similar to Prairieville, Dutchtown, and Gonzales. East Ascension and Sorrento are pretty damn trashy, but are much smaller areas than the trashy areas Livingston has (everything east and south of Walker).

The portion of Ascension west of the River is basically Iberville ... nobody wants to count that as theirs.

Well my man at least we don’t live in the same parish as the topless brotha I saw today walking along Nicholson wearing nothing but gym shorts and tube socks.

I heard they were gonna build the new Crawfish Aquatics in Livingston but they have a strict above ground pool only ordinance
